~Jack's POV~
"Let go of me Mark. I don't trust you anymore."
"Wh-what do you mean?" Mark said with an afraid look in his eyes. He loosened his grip on my wrist and I pulled it away from him.
"I don't trust you anymore. They told me everything. You're a murderer!"
"That's not true! I've told you that I had to do it because of them!"
"So you admit it. You've told me earlier that I was your first assignment, but apparently I was not."
Mark sighed. "Ok, fine. I've killed two people before you. And I hate myself for doing it, but they forced me! Jack, please. Don't believe them. They're trying to turn you against me."
"So you lied to me. You have killed people!" I stepped back a little. "Mark, you lied about this. It's just one thing, but I don't know what to believe from your story anymore.. They have proof, Mark."
"Jack, please. You know I'm not a murderer. I would never do something like that and you know it."
"Now you're trying to make me feel sympathy towards you." I sighed. "They've told me all of your tricks, Mark. How you wanted to trick me into your world by isolating me from everyone!" I turned to walk away, again. But Mark took my wrist, again.
"What about our promise? Only death can do us apart, remember?"
"Promises are ment to be broken Mark. Especially when the other person lies about murdering people." I said and I shook my wrist out of his grasp.
"The only reason why I didn't tell the truth is because I didn't want to lose you! You mean so much to me and you don't realize! I'd do anything to save you."
I saw the people from this place sneak up behind Mark to take him with them.
"You know, I thought I cared for you, just like you did for me. But now I see that it was just Stockholm Syndrome after all." He gasped, but recovered fast.
"But why do I feel the same?!" A tear spilled over his cheek. "There's nothing like Stockholm Syndrome reversed and you know it!"
I stepped closer and put my hand on his shoulder, but not for the reasons he tought. "I know Mark," I paused, his eyes filled with hope. "But I don't want to hear it."
I pushed him back, right into the arms from the many people. His eyes widened in realisation and he started struggling. I turned around and started to walk away.
"Jack! They're lying! Jack please!.."
"Take him." I said without even looking behind me.
I heard his screams become softer. "Jack!" When I was at the door, I looked back one more time. Mark was gone, but Cry was standing there, nodding. He mouthed 'You did the right thing.' before he walked away.
I bursted trough the door and ran as fast as I could. Tears spilled down my face while I looked for something familiar. I saw a sign that leaded to our neighbourhood and sprinted in that direction. My thoughts were running, just like I was.
'I love Mark, but he lied to me. He lied when he said that I had to believe him. He said that he was innocent so many times. I don't know anymore.
I really need comfort right now, but the one who gave it to me so many times is gone. Even if I was sorry, even if I really wanted him back, they took him away. But I am sorry. I really want him back. But I need to figure this organisation out first, in order to believe him. If they really lied, then there has to be a clue. A clue that proves them wrong.'
The stars were shining above me when I reached our apartment. "How long have I been in that building?" I questioned.
I opened the door to the lonely apartment. I walked to the bedroom and changed quickly. I got into the bed and thought about tomorrow.
'I'll do some research tomorrow. I hope that I'll find what I'm looking for, I want Mark back.' I turned on my side, looking at an empty spot besides me.
I sighed. "I really want him back." I mumbled. But I knew that I had to find out who was lying first. 'I just hope that Mark told the truth after all.' I turned my back to the empty spot.
"Fuck, why do I miss him so much?" I asked as tears spilled down my face, falling asleep into another nightmare.
