~Jack's POV~
We walked around for 20 minutes, but saw no one.
"Where is everyone? I thought this place was full of guards." I whispered to Mark. "I took a few out, but not that many. I have no clue what's going on." He answered. We walked past a window and I looked ouside. I saw a lot of police cars and some people in uniforms getting arrested. That's when someone called Mark. He took his phone and answered.
After a short conversation he hang up and began to speak. "That was Ken. He told me that they're clearing out the first floor. They still miss twenty to thirty guards, but won't go to the second floor. Ken didn't know why. Anyway, that means that those twenty or thirty guards must be on this floor. And we haven't seen any of them, so it could be that they're all with Felix now."
"Then we must prepare for a fight." I said and he nodded. "But where could they be?" "Maybe in Felix's office?" Mark stated. "Lead the way." I answered.
We walked for a few minutes and were almost at the office when we heard loud noises. They were gunshots, a lot of them. We backed up against the wall quickly until the shots died down. We carefully turned around the corner and saw something horrific.
We saw the twenty guards on the ground infront of Felix's office, dead. We also saw Felix and Cry stand in the middle of them, both holding a gun. Mark was the first to speak up. "Felix? Cry? What the hell?!" "Oh, hi." Felix said blankly. "What happened?! Why did you do this?!" I questioned. "Well, let me tell you. But you must promise that you'll listen. We don't have much time." Felix said. Mark and I looked at each other and nodded.
"Well, we have some history. Cry and I have been in a relationship for over 4 years now. First, everything was amazing. But then we got involved with this dark part of the world. We made money off of it and it wasn't so bad. But things aren't always what they seem. More people started to get involved and I became "The Boss" here. Cry and I couldn't let anyone know about our relationship or we would be in danger.
But even if we couldn't see each other that often, we have build this huge community. Our people have done amazing inventions. And we are very proud, but it has to come to an end." He paused. "I couldn't bare it anymore. Looking at all the innocent victims day after day, pretending to be strong when I'm not and worst of all, not seeing my Cry for weeks sometimes." He took Cry's hand in his but continued talking. "I'm glad that the cops are here. I would have gone insane if it didn't end now. It has been over 3 and a half years, which is way to long."
"So you're just going to give up?" Mark questioned. "Ofcourse not, Silly." Felix spoke again. "We figured that if we got arrested, Cry would be innocent and I would be guilty. We still wouldn't be together." "But, what do you want to do then?" I asked and Cry spoke up. "We have had this plan for years, for whenever the cops would show up. We basically put explosives in a few places around the building which will go of in.." He looked at his watch. "2 minutes and 11, 10, 9 seconds." I gasped.
"But we're not doing this just for us to go down, we're also doing this to get rid of all the information. I mean, we don't want the cops to know how we could control dreams or people. And by the way, these guards wouldn't go away. But they had no idea what was about to go down. We just made it quick for them." Cry chuckled, but I completely ignored the last things he said. "Mark, warn the people on the first floor, NOW!" I pushed him a little to get him running.
I stood there for a few seconds until Felix started talking again. "Jack, I know these past few days have been insane. But I really hope that this isn't to much for you.. I'm going insane and it has been enough. This has to end. I hope you understand. I just wanted to thank you for being my friend through these rough times." He said. "I understand, it's your choice. And you're welcome, but I think that you have something more important to do then talk to me at this moment." I chuckled while I gestured towards Cry.
He nodded with a smile before he suddenly pulled Cry closer and riped his mask off. Cry gasped. "Feli-" He got cut off when Felix slammed his lips into Cry's. I just smiled at how cute it looked. They pulled back after a few seconds and looked into each other's eyes. "Finally I can see your cute face." Felix said as I almost 'aahwed'. Cry blushed and looked at his watch. He silently counted down. 5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. 1..
Someone pulled me to the ground and towered over me just before the explosion. It was Mark. He came back and protected me!
After a few moments we stood up. The building was falling apart and a lot of things were on fire, but Felix and Cry were still staring at each other while holding hands. They were completely surrounded by flames.
Mark pulled me up and we started to run out of here, but I kept looking back. They both had a gun in their hand, which rose to their head.
We turned around the corner and I heard it. "BANG.." I fell to my knees as tears runned down my cheeks. I knew that this was going to happen.
Mark ran back in shock but landed next to me fast, hugging me tight. "How were they so strong?" I asked. "They were still holding hands, weren't they?" I felt Mark nod in my shoulder. "Cuties.." I chuckled as more tears fell.
"At least no one took them appart in the end.." Mark said and I nodded.
"Not even death took them apart. Now they can be together forever." I said as I felt Marks tears on my shirt.
"They were true partners in crime."
