~Jack's POV~
I made it to the second floor when I suddenly heard voices.
"This task is impossible! How do we have to find someone on this floor? This building is way to big!" Someone exclaimed. I didn't recognize the voice and I assumed that they were guards. They had their back towards me and I took this chance. I sprinted accross the hallway and opened the first door I saw.
I found myself in a small room with supplies and a big cabinet. I saw a lot of food in little stalls. I looked at the cabinet and opened it. I found three guns and took one. I prepared the gun with the supplies in the cabinet and took one last look at it before I let my hand with the gun hang next to my body. "Nice."
The dried blood above my lips was still there and I wiped it away with my sleeve. It would look weird if someone saw it, but then again, I bumped into a lot of people and they didn't care. Oh well, it's not there anymore.
I put my head against the door and listened carefully. I heard nothing, so I decided to open the door a little to look around. I immediatly saw someone leaned against the wall at the end of the hallway. His red hair gave him away, Mark!
"Mark!" I whispered. He turned his head towards me quickly. "Jack?" He whispered confused and I waved him over. He slowly and carefully walked over to me and I closed the door behind him. "Ja-" I cut him off by grabbing the sides of his face and pushing my lips into his. He tensed up at first, but melted into it fast. I missed this so much.
We pulled away after twenty seconds and I began rambling, but kept my voice down. "Mark I'm so sorry. It was dumb not to believe you. And I put your life in danger because of it. Cry lied to me and I was so stupid to believe him. I'm so sorr-" He cut me of and kissed me again. I kissed him back quickly. I missed him so much.
He pulled back after a few seconds and gave me a warm smile. "I forgive you." He said while he pulled me into a hug. "I know how they work here. They said things you were unsure about, to make their lie more believable." He let go of me slowly. "You don't have to be sorry." "But I yelled at you.." I said as I slowly let go of him too. He then took my hands in his. "Don't worry. I knew that they would try to put you against me. I knew what I signed up for. Really, don't worry. It's Ok now that you're here." I smiled at him, but felt lightheaded soon after.
"Jack? Are you Ok?" Mark asked a he sat me down on the ground with my back against the wall. "It could be that my head isn't fully healed from the punch that Felix gave me, or the fact that I haven't eaten in a day or more." I said as I leaned my head against the wall. "Felix punched you?" Mark asked as he scanned the stalls and got two sandwiches out of it. "Yeah, that's why it took me so long to get here. Ken found me." I said as he handed me one sandwich and sat infront of me. We ate and talked. "You're lucky that I send Ken out." Mark said with a chuckle. "I know, thanks." "No problem, I had a feeling that you were in trouble. I didn't want you to get hurt." "I'm not that weak. I have a stabwound in my leg, cuts across my neck and chest and I got punched in th face. And look where I am!" I chuckled.
"And I'm glad that you're with me." Mark said. "Me too. So, what's the plan?" I asked. "We have to take Felix out," He started, standing up. "But we have to take the guards out in order to get to him." "Good thing I found these guns." I said as I showed him mine and pointed at the cabinet afterwards. He opened the cabinet and took one of the guns and prepared it. "Nice."
He helped me off the ground. "Feel any better?" I nodded. "Let's do this." I said as I opened the door.
We sneaked around the hallways a few moments later.
