~Jack's POV~
I heard the door unlock. "Ok, people. Time's up!"
Ken and Cry came in. "What are you going to do now?" I asked with Mark by my side. "We're going to take Mark away from here." Cry answered. "Why?" I asked as I intertwined my fingers with Mark's behind our backs. I didn't want him to leave.
"We've told you already. We are going to have an important conversation. And some people have to talk to Mark. So, we have to separate you two now." Ken answered. I looked at Mark with a worried expression. "Don't worry," He whispered while turning to me. "You're going to be fine. I'm going to be fine. Everything's going to be just fine. Only death can do us apart, remember?" He gave me a little kiss on the cheek before Ken pulled him away from me.
Ken pulled Mark out the door. But Mark mouthed 'Stay strong' before he was completely out of my sight. I let out a smal sigh and sat down in my chair. Cry sat in the Mark's chair, right in front of me. He was wearing his mask, but I could feel him staring at me. After a while I gained enough courage to speak up. "What do you want to tell me so badly?" I asked.
"Jack, I think Mark has told you some sort of story, right? Well, I don't think that he told you the truth. Mark told a story where he was 'innocent', right? Actually, that can't be further away from the truth. Jack, listen carefully, Mark is a killer."
I jumped up from my chair. "That's not true! It can't be! Why should I even believe you? Mark told me that I shouldn't believe anything you would tell me. And I don't!" I screamed at him, but Cry kept calm.
"Ofcourse he said that. He wants you to trust him. But we've been looking for mark the past two years. He has killed a lot of people and we want to stop him. Now that he found you, he hasn't moved in a while. That's why we could catch him.
To be honest, the fact that you aren't dead, is a miracle. We think that he fell in love with you and couldn't kill you. But ofcourse, you had to trust him. He made up a story which made it seem like he was the victim. So that you would feel sympathy towards him. He isolated you, so you couldn't fall in love with someone else. You had to choose him, you had no choice."
"You're talking nonsence." I said blankly.
"Can't you see? He is isolating you, telling you what you can and can't do. Please realize that the murderer was sitting next to you the whole time! You could have been killed too!"
"Really? Is this really true?" I started to doubt my opinion. Mark told me not to believe them, because he was scared of me finding out. It all makes sense.
"Yes! We have proof! do you want to see pictures of the dead bodies?" Cry asked.
"No thanks." I said. I didn't want to see dead people. Especially if Mark was the one who killed them. "I think I believe you." I said eventually.
"Good. We are doing this to keep you safe, Jack. We finally caught Mark, thanks to you. Thank you Jack. You are free to go." Cry said.
"What about Mark?" I blurted out. Part of my mind was confused, the other was mad, and another part wanted to hug Mark to feel safe. But I couldn't. I had to stay strong. If this is true, then Mark lied to me all this time. I started to get mad, but I needed to think clearly before I go out there. I didn't know what or who was out there.
Cry stood up and I quickly followed. He unlocked the door and led me outside into a hallway. "I have to go now. Go this way, take the third on your right and at the end of that hallway is the main door. See you soon Jack!" Cry said and he walked the other way. I stood where Cry left me for a couple of minutes before I started walking.
I was almost at the point where I had to turn right when I heard it. "Jack!"
I slowed down, but kept walking. I turned around the corner as I heard footsteps running towards me. "Jack! Wait!"
"Jack! What did they tell you?" I was about to run away, but he took hold of my wrist and turned me around.
"Jack, what's going on..?"
"Jack?"
"Let go of me Mark. I don't trust you anymore."
