~Chapter Twenty Three~

~Jack's POV~

After a few moments of sitting there, I took Mark's arms from my back and took his hand in mine.

"We need to get out of here," I said while I wiped my tears away. "Or we're going to burn alive." He nodded while he also wiped his tears away and we started to run.

We ran towards the stairs, but a few steps had collapsed, creating a huge gap. The fire was closing in on us and Mark jumped over the gap. He landed on his feet and  reached out his hands. "Now you, Jack." I nodded and jumped to his platform where he instantly hugged me to keep me from falling. I looked back and saw the platform I was just standing on collapse.

I gasped but Mark took my hand and we ran down the remaining stairs. We ran trough the fire in the hallways until we were finally outside. I put my hands on my knees and breathed heavily when I finally stopped running. Mark stood next to me, doing the same with one hand on my back.

After a few moments he stood up straight and hugged me tight. "We made it." He whispered. "Ofcourse, what did you think? That the universe was going to let us fall apart that easy?" I chuckled. "But for real though, I'm glad that you're by my side again. Do you really forgive me?" I asked. "Ofcourse Jack. Why in Gods name would I push you away when I finally have you back?" He said while he pulled back and stared at me. "Damn, I've missed that cute face." He chuckled as I blushed.

"But what now? The business is gone. And what about us?" I asked. "I don't know, but what I do know is that I wanna spend the future with you, like normal people. Not even death can do us apart, remember?" He answered. "Thanks, and I'm going to keep that promise this time." I said as I took his hand in mine and smiled. He smiled back with the brightest smile I've ever seen.

We stood there for a moment when I got tackled into a hug, it was Ken. "I'm glad to see you too." I chuckled. "Are you Ok? Are you hurt?" "I'm fine Ken." I chuckled while looking up to see two people hugging Mark. Ryan and Matt perhaps? Wait, that means that Matt is Ok! I'm glad.

Ken let go of me to hug Mark and Ryan and Matt came to hug me. The five of us had a small talk and Mark and I had to tell them 3 times that we were fine. Matt and Ryan even apologised for what they have done to me.

The cops came after a few minutes. They asked us a few questions and if we were hurt. I have a stabwound in my leg, cuts across my neck and chest and my nose is probably broken. "I'm fine." I said with a smile. Mark did the same and we thanked the officers. We were allowed to go home while the fire department took care of the burning building. The cops would investigate the building afterwards.

Ken tugged at my sleeve a little. "And Cry?" He asked. I shook my head. "He and Felix had something special. They couldn't be together when they wanted to. But now they will be together forever." He nodded in understanding. I patted his back. "There was always something up with the guy. He was always lost in his thoughts. Now I know why." He chuckled.

We decided to meet up in a few days, but Mark and I were exhausted and said our goodbyes. We walked to Marks house hand in hand. Matt and Ryan would come a little later.

"It's crazy how all of that happened in just a week." I commented. "Indeed. But now that it's over, I have a question for you." "What is it?"

"Well, I don't really know how to say this but, do you want to be my boyfriend, maybe?" "Ofcourse Mark, I'd love to."

"So, now we're a normal couple?" Mark asked.

"Yeah, and normal people." I answered.

"Feels boring already."
