Chapter Six: Trust

I have a weird feeling but I brush it off.

It's time for the Night Class to go to class but where is Kagura? I haven't seen her all day long, nor a lot since she arrived a few weeks ago. Just what is she up to?

"Everyone head to classes without me. I need to go find Kagura," I say. "Mikou is in charge until I get back."

"Yes Lady Sakura." I hear the whole Night Class say in unison. I then rush out of the Moon Dorms to find Kagura Yuri. I follow her scent to the rooftop of the Day Class dorms.

What the heck would she be doing up here? I think.

I peek over the side of the stairwell and see a suprising sight, no more like shocking sight. I see Zero having a conversation with none other than Kagura Yuri herself. I told him that she is dangerous, but did I tell him she is also manipulative? I think I forgot to, this isn't good.

I see Kagura look in my direction and snicker. Zero might not have noticed she snickered at me but he sure did look in my direction. I cower.

"Look who it is Zero." She looks back at him and smiles.

I see Zero give me a dirty look. What did I do wrong?

"I guess I forgot that classes have started..." Kagura says looking down. "I must be going."

Kagura runs off. She brushes me on the arm as she passes, Zero and I are in dead silence now.

I step out from the shadows. "Hey Zer--" Zero cuts me off.

"What are you doing here?" He asks with anger in his voice.

Zero looks up at me, I notice his eyes look a bit different. His lavender eyes are a bit... foggy? Like some of the color is taken out of them.

I'm taken aback. "Zero I was just looking for Kagura. What did I do wrong?" My voice turns to a squeak.

"She told me what you did." He says looking down.

"Did... what?" I ask sternly.

"She said you've been mean to her, bringing her down and everything." Zero pauses. "She said that you always thought she wanted to overthrow you when that was not the case."

"Zero," I breath in a big breath. "Why would I do that?"

"Because your families never got along. She said you've been abandoning her this whole time!" Zero exclaims.

I squeeze my hands into fists. "Zero," I start. "I don't know what she told you. But she's lying."

"So what? What if your lying? Who should I trust?!" Zero yells. I look up at him wide eyed. He has never raised his voice at me before, even when we didn't get along.

I'm actually a little scared of him.

"You should be trusting me Zero! You've known me for longer, aren't we friends? You just today started talking to Kagura, you can't trust her like that after a day!" Rage is building in my voice.

"So what?! Right now," Zero pauses. "She seems way more trustworthy." He glares at me.

My breathing is becoming more heavy. I feel like I'm about to burst, with tears.

"Zero listen--" I say stepping forward. All of the sudden Zero pulls out Bloody Rose. He's actually threatening to kill me??

"Stay away vampire." I'm shaking a little.

Zero wants to kill all Purebloods. But would he actually kill me? Or Yuuki? My sister and I are good Purebloods. Can't he understand that?

"Zero why are you threatening me like this?" I screech. The tears are really flowing now.

"Because you can't be trusted. Kagura told me everything you did, don't deny it!"

"Zero I'm trying to tell you something important. Just let me say--"

"No!" Zero exclaims suddenly. "You will just try to change my mind but my mind is already set."

"Zero..." I say. "Please just trust me. What happened to our trust?"

"There is no trust." He says looking down.

"Zero." I say taking a step forward. "Listen. To. Me. Kagura is manipulating you! Snap out of it!" I hiss shakily.

"Stay away!" Zero is taking aim. And then--

Bang.

Zero shoots me in my chest. I begin to spit up blood.

"Zer--" Bang. Another shot in my chest.

I fall to my knees. Then I collapse on the ground as my vision fades.

Zero's POV

What the hell have I done? I think wide eyed.

It's as though I've just woken up from a trance. For the past thirty minutes my mind has been foggy, I couldn't think straight. Now that my mind is clear I see the horror I just commited. I shot Sakura two times in the chest. Blood is coming from her lips and her eyes are slightly open with a tears coming out. She's still alive, otherwise she'd be ash.

"Sakura!" I exclaim as I rush to her side. I have to get her to the Infirmary or she'll die. Even if she wasn't shot in the heart or head if she loses too much blood...

I can't think of that right now. I rush her to the main building where I run into the Night Class.

"Lady Sakura!" A girl with light brown hair exclaims.

"You..." A girl who kinda resembles Hanabusa hisses. "You did this!"

She lunges at me but the girl holds her back.

"Mine calm down! Now's not the time, Lady Sakura's life is on the line!" She exclaims.

"Tsk." Mine says, still glaring. A boy with white hair walks up to me.

"Thank you for bringing her here. We'll see to her injuries." He says while smiling, even at this horrible time. I put Sakura in his arms.

"Mikou how can you thank him? He did this to her!" Mine hisses.

"Mine," Mikou says. "Now's not the time." She crosses her arms.

The Night Class walks in the direction to the Infirmary. I'm left here, in the dead silence to think about the terrible thing I've done today.

I decide to stroll around campus. The sun is just starting to peak over the horizon. I come across the Swan Fountain, where I first met Sakura. Now every time I think of her the memory of shooting her and her tears comes into my mind.

What happened to our trust?! She exclaimed. I replied that we had no trust. Those weren't my words. I didn't even want to point Bloody Rose at her.

I think about is the bang of my weapon, not that I want to at this moment. The weapon that can kill any vampire, but not the ones I care about.

"You look pathetic." I turn and I see none other than Scarlet, my rival since we were little.

"What do you want?" I ask.

"Nothing. Just coming to say that if your so easily manipulated by a Pureblood to hurt the ones you care for then why run for President?" She purrs.

"How do you know about that?" I ask looking at her.

"I work for the Senate, I know all the latest biz." She grins. "And I know you'll never be strong if you continue the way you are now. So suck it up." She turns and leaves, leaving me alone in the darkness I'm now in once more.

So yeah I was going to do this scene later in the book but I decided you guys deserved a little action. Hope you enjoyed!
