Chapter Twenty: Goodbye

As Zero and I dash through the trees I feel like I'm growing closer to some sort of supreme power. Or in other words - a strong aura. I'm sure Zero can sense it as well, but he obviously stays quiet.

"Get ready, Zero," I murmur. "I feel like we're getting closer to Kagura and her minion."

Zero nods before quickening his pace. I didn't think that it would be a good idea to engage Kagura with just the two of us but there was a little hope in my mind that if we did start to fight her we'd get support within minutes.

Actually seconds, hopefully.

I ready Sunlight by my side once more as I prepare to engage in battle. Once we emerge through the brush there stands Kagura; sending a devious grin our way.

"I'm so glad you could make it, Sakura," she says. "You made it just in time to meet your end."

"Likewise," I hiss.

Morishique runs my way with the same katana as before. I instantly think of my father, but I quickly push those thoughts to the back of my head. I couldn't think about this right now, I have other matters to deal with.

I quickly block a swing from Morishique with Sunlight. Blue sparks fly into the air as the two Vampire Hunter weapons clash. His wounds seem to have healed very quickly. I wonder why.

I take a quick glance at Kagura and see her just standing idly. It is when a gunshot rings through the air that I see her quickly dodge the bullet and hiss.

"It's impossible, Sakura," Kagura says. "You won't be able to beat me this easily."

I glare at Kagura before I suddenly hear the russling of leaves. I turn and see the Night Class emerge, all readying for the final battle.

"Now!" Mikou exclaims.

All of the Night Class sends an attack Kagura's way. I think that she wouldn't be able to dodge all those attacks at once, but that hope was obviously in vain.

"Haha," Kagura giggles. "You're all trying so hard. It's pathetic."

I take a quick glance over at Zero, who has now engaged in a fight with Morishique. It is gun vs. sword and Zero is obviously at a disadvantage at close range.

I hope he'll be okay, I think. He's strong.

I take a glance in the opposite direction and see the Night Class keeping the Level E's around us busy.

Good, I think. It'd be hard fighting both Level E's and Kagura.

My eyes suddenly widen as someone leaps behind Kagura, preparing to strike her from behind. The young woman is holding a reaper and has a look of determination spread across her face.

Yuuki.

Yuuki takes a swing at Kagura but her target suddenly counters when she pulls out a sword from her jacket.

"Poor, poor Yuuki," Kagura coos deviously. "Maybe I should just end you first."

Yuuki's eyes go wide as Kagura takes a swing at her. Yuuki easily maneuvers to the side, but I see a stream of blood glide down her cheek seconds later.
