The walk through woods was long, but incredibly relaxing for Aleida. Being in able to touch her pure natural element was freeing, it gave her a feeling of safety.

Embry, on the other hand, seemed anxious and stressed. He looked like he hadn't had a good nights sleep in a while judging by the dark circles under his eyes.

Aleida watched in amusement as the boy perked up once they exited the tree line, coming into view of a small cottage like home.

"Where are we?" she asked him.

"Sam and Emily's. Figured you would want something to eat."

Smiling widely, she picked up her pace. She had a feeling that inside she would find more shifters but it didn't frighten her as much as it should.

Embry held the door open for her before moving around her and disappearing into the small home. Following behind him confidently, she poked her head from around him, revealing herself to the other people in the room.

It was mostly boys, all of the tall and tan like Embry, however, some of them were much more filled out than he was.

"Embry said there would be food." Aleida simply states.

A kind looking woman steps forward, a motherly gleam in her eyes as she takes Aleida in. A scar crossing half of her face, obscuring her smile. In her hands was a tray pastries.

Moving from behind Embry, she walks right up to the woman and takes the tray from her hands. Spinning, she thrusts it towards Embry.

"The woman who cooks shouldn't have to be burdened with presenting the food. You have all these boys to bring it in for you."

Reaching forward, Aleida pulls her into a hug. Not caring that most of the boys had gone rigid in their seats.

Pulling away slightly, she runs her fingers just above the scars.

"May the warriors look upon your scars as a badge of honor," Aleida whispered. "The Old and the New see you."

Embry gently pllaces his hand on Aleida's shoulder to get her attention. Motioning to his Alpha that was eyeing the unknown girl dangerously.

Shrugging him off, she addresses the woman before her.

"Wear your scars with pride," she advised. "Not many can bear the burden that you do."

Thrusting her hand out she introduces herself. "I'm Aleida."

"I'm Emily," the woman smiles widely. "I believe the boys are waiting for your attention."

"I was raised to always address the head of the house first. The others can wait," she said with a cheeky grin.

Tunring back to Embry, she takes one of the pastries from the tray still in his hands.

"Place it on the table. Honestly, what are you waiting for?"

Eyeing the food in her hand, she turns back to Emily with wide eyes.

"What is it?"

Emily looks at the girl in surprise. Noticing her appearance for the first time.

Aleida was, simply put, beautiful. Long dark hair and a beautiful complexion, but you could see how thin she was. Her clothing was very strange though. She wore a hide dress, almost like a bark material, a simple hunting knife tucked into a belt, and no shoes. One could see the durt on her, and the twigs and leaves that stuck in her hair.

"It's a cinnamon role, honey. Try it," Emily encouraged. Shooting a glare at all the others that looked at her weirdly.

Taking a small bite, her eyes grew impossibly wider at the taste. Looking at Emily with a wide smile, she took bigger bites until her cheeks puffed out.

Embry watched her with a smile playing at her lips. He'd been feeling awful about leaving Quil behind when he shifted. Aleida acted similarly to Quil, just as cocky, funny and weird.

Swallowing her food, she meets the gazes of the other boys head on.

"So you guys are shifters too?"

Aleida sat confused at the range of reactions. Some stared at her in confusion and disbelief, others looked at her in anger. Those eho didn't look at her had turned to Embry, clearly furious.

Feeling the tension in the room, Emily placed her hand gently in Aleida's shoulder. The girl was tiny compared to the boys, Emily didn't want her to hurt.

"What do you know? What did he tell you?" one of the boys sneered.

"What's your name?" she questions him.

"What did he tell you?" he said lowly, stepping forward.

"What's your name?" she countered, stepping directly in front of him.

"Paul, calm down."

Paul turned and looked towards his Alpha, his anger radiating off him. His tall form shaking.

"She knows Sam," he practically snarls out.

"If you can't calm down, get out."

Heading Sam's warning, Paul moves out the house. Letting out a frustated yell as he barely has the time to make it to the trees beofre he shifts.

Watching from her position, Aleida lets out a small sound of awe at him shifting.

"You can all do that?" she asked excitedly.

The remaining people, apart from Embry, watched her carefully.

Not getting a reply, she turns towards Embry. Once seeing his barely noticeable nod, she smiles widely.

"That's seriously cool."

"How does she know?" Sam asked Embry.

"I'm right here," Aleida said, giving him a looked. "You can ask me."

"How do you know?"

"My people knew many stories. Legends, myths, it didn't matter, it was comon for a parent to tell the children the stories of the world. So that we would be prepares for everything."

"Your people? How did your people get our legends?" another boy asked.

"It could have been anything. One of mine could have met one of yours, married them even if they got the stories," she explained while grabbing another cinnamon role. "It could have been from travels. Your forest in potent in magical energy, very welcoming for my kind."

"Your kind?" Sam asked.

Freezing suddenly, Aleida shook her head at the mention of her kind. Not wanting to speak of them.

Seeing the girls discomfort, Emily grabs her hand gently.

"Why don't we make you some more food. You dont seem to get a lot of it," she suggests.

Aleida smiles at Emily. Letting the woman lead her away from the boys.

Turning back slightly, she looks at all of them with superiority.

"Emily likes me best."
