Staring out at the trees, she held firmly onto Emily's hand for support. The elders backed her, and she was one of the council meaning that the boys couldn't yell or disrespect her. The worse they could do was shun her, bar her from the pack, but Emily had been trying to reassure her that they wouldn't.
The fire was set, food prepared. The meeting was scheduled to be held behind Billy Black's home to make it easier for him. To make it easier for her to access the trees if all went badly.
Staring out at the trees, she found little comfort. She had explained many things, told them many stories, guided them when it was needed, Aleida simply wished for all to turn out well.
"It's gonna be fine," Emily soothed gently, running her hand over the girls back mindful of the slight bruising she had obtained during the battle.
"You say that now, but nether of us had been inside of their minds. We do not know what they are thinking."
The pack began to trickle in, a few imprints joining along. She spotted Kim, a young shy girl that was exceedingly kind. Rebecca Black came forward with Paul trailing. The girl was strong willed, she easily soothed the fiery boy. Aleida thought it was a perfect match.
Sh watched as the younger boys came forward. The were lost and confused and she wanted nothing more than to guide them. She was scared she would never get the chance to bond with them.
She never moved from her spot when they ate and joked around, Emily not leaving her side once, an action hat had worried the Alpha wolf.
Leah was last to arrive, unsurprisingly to everyone. She ate a minimal amount, spoke to no one. No one spoke to her in turn.
"Watch over Leah for me," Aleida mumbled. "She needs a friend, even if she does not know it."
"You can watch her your-"
"Emily," Aleida cut her off. "Promise me just in case."
The pack watched as the two stared each other down before Emly was grumbling some kind of promise, her grip on Aleida tightening.
"Shall we begin?" Billy called. Silence was instant.
Pulling Emily forward slightly, the girls sat together among the Elders, no one dared speak out about Emily not having a position there.
"The stay off our land." Sam left no room for discussion.
To an outsider it would have been an interesting affair to see how the Elders could simply share looks and glances before coming to an agreement.
"The vampires cannot cross without permission," the leaders spoke in unison.
The Alpha narrowed his gaze slightly at the wording, he felt something was off.
"They might be your natural enemy, but the Cullen's are also allies."
The wolves shifted uncomfortably. They knew she had a point, but they didn't like it. They grumbled lowly among themselves.
"Fine," Sam agreed.
It was silent as Aleida stared into the fire. Watching as the flames lingered closer to the wood instead of rising.
"Shall we discuss the topic of Mrs. Swan?" Aleida questioned.
From across the fire she saw Jacob tense. Everyone knew what he wanted.
"We seem to be in disagreement on the subject of her turning into a leech," Aleida continued.
"The treaty says that if amy of them bite a human, the treaty is broken," Jake growled.
