Sleep evaded Aleida for the next few days. It was painfully obvious from the moment she saw him what kind of relationship she was meant to have with her soulmate. By the way he felt the need to protect her and be with her, she felt he knew as well.
Her heart ached from his pain and distance. It wouldn't have been so painful had she accepted him instead of leaving, if he wan't so upset and worried.
The boys were well behaved for the most part. They had been scolded by Emily, their Alpha and the elders when they were acting overly rowdy.
The boys were all hoots and hollers when Jacob shows up with Bella.
"Bella's back!" they shout in excitement. Most running out the door to greet her.
Aleida was slow in getting to her feet and making in out the home, making it just in time to see Leah get snap at the pair.
"Fun, isn't she." Jake said with an eye roll.
"Jacob." Aleida's voice rang out, making the pack stiffen and look at Jake as her tone held a hint of anger. "She is your sister, you will treat her as such."
"Didn't you hear what she said to-"
"That is no excuse," Aleida told him with narrowed eyes. "She is a big girl that can come to her own defense, especially since she is here despite my warning. Do not take my injuries as weakness Jacob because I will not hesitate to put you both in your place."
She snapped her fingers at Paul and motioned him forward. "I need you to go and find Leah for me," she whispered. "Tell her I would like to speak with her."
Paul gives her a quick hug and runs off after his pack sister. Aleida slowly makes her way towards the pale-face girl.
Bella takes in the state of the girl, at the amount of bruises and cuts, at the way she moves slowly and carefully.
"Your bloodsuckers need to learn the rules. They pull anything like they did at the hunt and I will not hesitate to defend my family." The area grew quiet, the pack shocked that she considered them family. Aleida was more surprised that they were shocked. She would not have stayed so long if she did not care for them. "Respect is key. Make sure they know that I will only speak with them when they learn and live by it. They same stands with you, I will only tolerate being in the same place as you when you learn to respect others as well as yourself."
She didn't look back when she left, instead she made directly for the sanctuary of the trees. None of the pack moved to follow, knowing that if she wished to disappear into the woods, she very well could.
Aleida found herself at the Clearwater home easily. Waking to the door, she heard the distinct sound of Paul arguing with Leah.
Letting herself in, she attempted to diffuse the situation.
"I'll take it from here, Paul," she told him, placing a comforting hand on his arm. "Go, I think Emily made those chocolate deserts again."
The girls found themselves alone in the living room. The silence was comforting as Aleida let herself fall to the couch gently, Leah moving into her side gently.
"I just can't stand seeing him with her and always hearing how sorry he is," Leah's murmured. "I get that he's sorry, but it doesn't make it hurt any less."
Aleida smoothed the girls hair gently. "Time heals all, remember? In time, you will be granted a love that is greater than anything you have ever before felt. The boys don't understand how you feel, it is hard, I know, but they are here for you. They are your brothers as you are their sister."
The steps creaked softly, alerting Aleida to the young wolfs presence. "Come on down, Seth."
The boy came down quickly and snuggled into her other side. Both siblings continue to feel the pain of their father, each not knowing how to handle it.
"Life is not easy, and is not kind. You will be faced with hardship and challenges. It is how you deal with them that defines you as a person. Do no let the world change you, either of you. I can see a light that lives inside you, that fights to be released. You're both destined for great things, I cannot wait to see the look on the worlds face as that light breaks free."
Aleida held them close as the cried for many things in their life. Vowing to herself that she would be their to support them always.

Emmett felt empty. He felt hallow and and lost. His mate was somewhere on the other side of the treaty line, somewhere he was forbidden to enter. He now understood what Edward felt when Bella was away from him.
He stood with his brother at the road that led to La Push, hoping she would have news of his mate.
He was close to crossing when Bella appeared with a wolf. His mates scent lingering on the both of them faintly.
"Edward," Bella began.
"Do you know how worried I've been? I was close to breaking the treaty to make sure you were alright," Edward growled.
"How is she?" Emmett butt in, not being able to hep himself.
Bella glanced back toward Jacob, waving goodbye. She waited for him to be out of hearing grange before continuing.
"What you have to understand is that she's kinda different," Bella started warily. "They consider her to be an honorary member of the tribe, they hold her to the same prestige as he Elders. Her word could be law f she wanted."
Emmett and Edward shared a surprised look. Emmett felt a strange sort of pride fill him.
"Ummm, according to Jake, they occasionally call her old one or ancient one." Bella shuffle awkwardly. "That being said, she still hates me and she hates all of you, but she did give me a message for you. She said that you need to learn respect if she is to even consider speaking to you."
Emmett froze slightly. He hadn't even met her yet, he didn't even know her name but she decided that wasn't respectful.
"What?" his voice came out choked.
"she said that respect is key," Bella stuttered. "Aleida is very old fashioned that way. Respect, loyalty and unity are all important. Her gods are important and so are her blessings."
"Aleida," Emmett whispered in awe. He felt stupid, but the name itself was beautiful, she was beautiful.
The vampire hated how she smelt so much like nature, and everything he loved about it. He smelt traces of her everywhere but never her.
"And how was she? Physically? She was so hurt the last time I saw her."
"Their were so many bruises," she whispered. "Cuts and bruises all over, and she walked so slow. I could almost feel the pain she was in. She's so strong though, she looked like hell, but she held herself with a certain aura."
Emmett winced hearing of the pain his mate was in. He knew that if he didn't see her soon, he would go insane.
