***Diesel***

"What do you mean you can't make it here?" I half yelled into the phone.

"Diesel, look, some things came up. Maybe you can just tel him by yourself." Lacey said casually. "It's not like I have to be there when you tell him."

"Really? I wanted someone who he fucking trusted to be here when I told him! Someone just as involved with this shit as me!" I shouted. Lacey was supposed to have been here about an hour or so ago, but I guess on the way back over, she stopped my the shopping mall we had ambushed the night before. The police had closed off the whole mall because various dead disassembled bodies laid all over the basement levels. They were going to launch a full on investigation.

Lacey also said that something with her mom came up. She didn't elaborate at all as to what that meant. All she said was that if it was her mom that wanted to meet up with her that it was important, and that she had to go.

"Lacey, I need you to be here when I tell him.. I can't do this on my own... What if, what if he leaves me? What if he thinks I'm crazy? Or what if he decides to have no part in this world of ours?" I asked after a pause.

"He won't. Diesel, if you found him to be your mate, even if he isn't a wolf, he will still feel some sense of attraction towards you. One that would be stronger and much more pleasing then the way he would feel with other potential... partners."

We both sat silent for several moments.

"Start with the blocks that we have up around the town. Try to get him to see through them. That's going to be your first step. Once they start to crumble, there won't be enough to hold them up. Once they are broken down, tell him what you are. Make him feel like he will need you to make it through life. And show him just how much you care about him." Lacey explained.

"Okay..." I told her, not sure if there was more she was going to add. She had been mysteriously cryptic, but also helpful lately.

"That's just a place you can start." she said. "Now, I have to go, some ass hat is trying to cut me off." I heard a horn blaring on the other end of the line, followed by Lacey punching her horn and screaming "Fuck you too little bitch!"

I laughed into the phone. "I'll see you whenever you get the chance." The line went dead.

I let out a sigh, and heard footsteps behind me. Brayden walked into my bedroom holding up his too big pants with one hand and rubbing at his eye with the other hand.

"Hey," he mumbled, "Who was that?"

"It was Lacey." I said without thinking. Brayden looked at me funny.

"Since when did you two become besties?" He asked.

"Since we worked together to save y... A.. A project we worked together on. In that class we share. We were working on a project together and it was jeopardized by someone else. They were doing a project on the same subject so..." I let the lie taper off.

Brayden seemed strangely okay with the lie. "Okay, gotcha." he plopped down onto my bed. "What time is it anyway?"

"Well right now, its about 5:00." I said checking my phone.

He stopped stretching out on my bed and looked at me like I was crazy. "5:00? What the heck? Why did you let me sleep for so long? Why didn't you wake me up?"
