You waited inside your home for Black*Star to arrive. You haven't seen him since the accident and quite frankly, you were nervous. It had only been days since the accident caused you to go mute and you were still adjusting to your new way of life. Not being able to speak wasn't as hard as you originally thought it would be. You had always been shy, so talking wasn't something you had done often. You only had to get used to only being able to write down everything you wanted to say. Well, that and the fact that your weapon was gone forever....
You shook your head, not wanting to think of the painful memories. Black*Star would arrive soon, you didn't want him to catch you crying. Tsubaki checked up on you earlier, wondering like everyone else the full details of what happened that day. It's not like you could just tell her, but even writing it down wasn't something you wanted to do. Thankfully, she realized quickly that it wasn't a subject that you wanted to talk about. The only person you'd ever tell the details to was Black*Star so you had Tsubaki get him for you. It was only now that you start to question whether or not it was a good idea.
Any hope of Black*Star ever loving you would disappear once you told him about that day. The day where you stupidly lost a battle resulting in your weapon's death, not to mention going mute due to guilt and having to go through such a traumatic experience. You were the reason why your weapon died and you ended up being so traumatized to the point where you couldn't even speak. Black*Star couldn't possibly love someone as weak as you.
You quickly brushed your tears away as Black*Star opened the door to your home without even knocking. You were glad that he hasn't changed even though you did.
"Hey, (F/N)?" he called, his voice somewhat softer than usual. You looked over at him and gave your best attempt to make a small smile for him.
"Tsubaki said that you wouldn't tell her what happened. You have to tell me, I'm a God! I have to know these things." You lowered your head, breaking eye contact with him.
You'll hate me, you wrote on a piece of paper, trying your hardest not to cry.
"Oh, come on. It can't be that bad."
It was time to prove a "God" wrong. Slowly, you wrote down everything that happened that day. You honestly didn't want to tell him, but you knew how stubborn Black*Star is, he wouldn't stop asking until he got his answer.
Once you gave him the sheet of paper, he quickly skimmed over it before crumpling it up and throwing it away. "You can't be upset over that! You're not a God like me, you can't expect to win every fight."
If I hadn't slipped up, my weapon might still be alive, you wrote, no longer able to hold back your tears. Black*Star looked shocked to see you cry, shocked enough to keep his voice lowered.
"I know it sucks that your weapon died.... But he died protecting you which was his job. You really think he'd want you to waste your life being sad after all he did?"
Your tears started flowing even faster. You couldn't be happy without your voice back. You tried so many times to try and speak, but each attempt ended in failure. It was almost as if your voice box just refused to work, that it left you just like your weapon did....
You probably hate me, you wrote. I'm so pathetic.... A God like you wouldn't want to be near someone as weak as me who loses their voice over being traumatized....
"I'm a God, I'm supposed to be caring. And besides, it's going to take a lot more than that to make me stop loving you." As soon as Black*Star finished that sentence, a faint blush appeared on his face. He said more than he meant to, causing you to look up at him with a mixture of surprise and happiness.
You love me...? You wrote, worried what his next answer would be. His face redenned even more before he sighed.
"I might as well just say it. I mean, what kind of God would I be if I kept secrets? I love you, (F/N)."
Your crying stopped and your heart began to beat rapidly in your chest. He really did love you, even after you got your weapon killed and went mute? You suddenly felt the tears start to come again, but not because of sadness. You grabbed the pencil, ready to tell him that you loved him back when he stopped you.
"No, I want you to actually say it. You went mute because of the trauma, right? There's no reason to be traumatized anymore! You have all of your friends and you have me! Push the bad memories and only focus on us, then you'll be able to speak again. As your God, I command you to speak again so you can help yourself."
You looked at him pleadingly. He didn't realize that he was asking the damn near impossible out of you. You couldn't count how many times you've tried talking but words just refused to come out. But you had to try, just so you wouldn't upset him. This was just his way of showing how much he really cared.
You opened your mouth, willing yourself to try to say those three words back, but no sound was made. Black*Star pulled you into a tight hug and held you with him.
"I know you don't have the power of a God, but you're still strong. I know you can talk, (F/N). Forget about the past and just focus on right now."
You thought back to all of those awful memories of that day. Black*Star was right about everything. Your weapon saved your life and wasting it away like this wasn't going to repay him. You pushed it out of your mind and focused on all of the friends you had who cared about you and even more importantly, you set your mind onto Black*Star. The guy you loved who admitted to loving you back. You had to be strong for him.
You opened your mouth and tried speaking again, your only thoughts set on Black*Star. A smile spread across your face when the words finally did leave your mouth.
"I love you, too."
