7:47 pm. I sat in the dining room alone with a half eaten meal and another that's slowly getting cold. This was the fifth time this week that Jack missed dinner without sending me a text or giving me a call to tell me he wasn't going to make it. I check my phone once more and I see the digital numbers go from 7:47 to 7:48. I let out a sigh, stood from my seat, grabbed Jack's plate, and stuffed it in the microwave in case he was hungry when he comes home.

I leaned against the counter and I stared at the empty seat. This is not how I wanted to spend my Friday night. Since I was already losing my appetite, I placed my leftovers in a container and stuck it in the refrigerator. I attempted to call Jack, but the call went straight to voicemail.

"Another late night studio session." I sighed, walking out of the kitchen and up the stairs, straight to mine and Jack's shared bedroom. Deciding it was no use staying up and waiting for him, I went straight to bed.

I hear the wooden floor creek and a dark figure slowly making itself across the room. As I looked closer, I finally figured out who it was.

"Jack?" I asked as I switched the lamp on.

I see him jump back and he places his hand on the left side of his chest. "Shit, Y/N. You scared me. Did I wake you?" He asked, trying to steady his breathing.

"Kind of." I reply, looking at the time on my phone. 4:54 am and there still wasn't any notification from him. "Why are you just getting in now?" I questioned. This was definitely the latest he's been.

"We needed to get the verses perfect." He stated as he turned to face the drawer and stripped from his shirt.

"A text would have been nice." I muttered to myself before switching the lamp off and turning to my side, facing away from Jack.

"Sorry baby, won't happen again. Promise." I feel the bed dip and his hand rubs up and down my thigh.

"You said that before." I tell him, hinting disdain in my tone. "I bet you forgot you promised that you'd take me to lunch today, didn't you?"

"I did?" Confusion in his voice. "When did I promise that?"

"Yes, you did." I told him, sitting up in bed once more. He moves his hand and sits up as well. "You said it when I brought up the fact that we were slowly becoming distant from one another." I added, slightly annoyed. Yes, I get that his music is important and I support him 100%. I understand that I can't be with him every hour of every day, but for the passed few months now, it feels like we've been growing apart, whether he wants to believe it or not.

"I'm sorry! I guess I forgot that I had a meeting today when I promised to take you out..." he says, slight guilt in his voice.

"Not a surprise." Bitterness and resentment took over.

"We can always have lunch together anytime we want, why is this such a big deal?" He scoffed.

At this point, I was annoyed at his state of oblivion. "Jack this isn't about lunch. In fact, I don't care about you forgetting. What I do care about is us spending time with each other." I state, my voice louder than anticipated.

"What are you talking about? We spend time together! It may not be 24/7, but we do." He defends, his hand movements mimicking the frustration he was feeling.

"Sleeping in the same bed does not mean we're spending time! Even that is slowly deteriorating with you coming home late every damn night!" Jack was slightly taken back at my statement. When I saw his reaction, I tried to calm myself down considering it was only 5 in the morning and he hadn't gotten any sleep. "You know what? Just get some rest." I tell him as I got out of bed. There was no way I was going to go back to sleep in the mood I was in.
