READER'S POV

I knock on the front door of Sam and Nate's shared apartment, waiting for someone to open it. I smooth out my black dress and after a few seconds, Sam appears and gives me his famous smile.

"Hey Y/N." He says, inviting me inside then giving me a hug. "Glad you finally decided you wanted to come and party with the boys tonight!" He exclaims, way more excited than I was to go to the club.

"Y/N!" I hear another familiar voice call out. I turn to face where the voice was coming from, only to find Nate giving me a side hug. "Surprised you didn't bail on us again." He teases, giving me a grin as he pulled away from the embrace. "You look good." He compliments, raising an eyebrow as he scanned up and down my body.

I let out a giggle. "Thanks. You look good too, as usual of course."

He smiles. "Swazz is still getting ready. Have a seat and relax for a little bit."

I scoff as I walked over to the couch. Sam and Nate exchange glances and gives each other a smirk.

"Whoa, what was that for?" Sam asked as he walked towards the couch to sit next to me.

"What was what?" I questioned. He mimics my actions when John was mentioned. I roll my eyes and crossed my arms.

"Is there going to be a problem between the two of you tonight?" Nate asked, but his tone of voice seemed playful as if this was something he enjoyed seeing.

"Not if she plays nice." A voice replies to Nate's question and we all turn to see who had joined us. The moment I saw him, I looked away. It was the one and only, John Swift. I feel Nate and Sam look at me for my reaction as Swazz stood in front of us in one of the sweaters he borrowed from one of the boys. "Y/ N." He says, not breaking eye contact with me.

I straighten my back and looked straight at him in the eyes. "Swift." I replied, cocking my head to the side and raising an eyebrow at him.

"What are you even doing here?" He asked, crossing his arms.

"My friends invited me out tonight." I replied, emphasizing the the first word.

He scoffs. "You mean, my friends invited you." He also emphasizes the same word and points his index finger to his chest. "Why did you guys invite her anyway?" He turned to look at the guys, completely disregarding the fact I was still in his presence.

"I'm right here, John." I sassed, standing up from my seat.

He scanned me up and down, then proceeding to repeat his question to both Nate and Sam, ignoring me once more. The two boys stood next to me and shrugged their shoulders.

"We thought it'd be fun." Sam says, draping his arm over my shoulders. Swazz rolls his eyes and grabs the plastic water bottle off the breakfast bar.

"Aw, don't worry John. I'm not going to steal your homeboys from you." I teased, raising my eyebrow once more, then giving him a smirk when he turns to look at me.

"Alright 'ma. Retract your claws. The whole point is to have fun tonight." Nate says as he gently leads me towards the door and the rest of the boys follow. The uber driver was parked outside and we walked towards it.

"I call shot gun!" Sam yells out, pushing his way through both me and Nate to get to the passenger's door. Nate jogs over to the back door and opens it. I look at Swazz who was already looking at me.

"Well, what are you waiting for?" He impolitely lets out.

I shake my head and got into the back seat of the car. Nate followed behind me and last was John. The drive to the club was filled with songs that was on Sam's phone and Nate snapchatting himself lip syncing, occasionally having both me and Swazz in the frame. We finally get to the club and we wait in line. Nate and Sam were in front of me, leaving Swazz beside me. I see Sam glance over at the awkwardness between me and John and he turns to face us.
