NATE'S POV
I casually scan the wall of shoes that were perfectly aligned and surrounded the entire room.
"I swear, we're always waiting on Skate to find shoes." I hear Dillon say into his phone. I look up and shot him my middle finger with a smile.
"I gotta look good. What do you expect?" I reply as I continued to look around.
"Did you even exchange your money yet? I don't think any stores here take American dollars." He lets out a laugh in remembrance from one incident where I completely forgot to exchange US money for foreign bills. Again, I lifted my middle finger to him and smiled. "Yes, I did exchange my money. That is never happening again." He stops hassling me for a moment and I wonder away, scanning the wall some more. Completely indulged in my actions, I hadn't noticed I bumped into a girl until she dropped the items she was holding.
"Oh shit, I'm so sorry. I didn't see you there." I let out, bending down to pick up the items off the floor.
"Oh, it's alright. It's fine." I hear her beautiful accent that made me shoot my head up so fast it probably caused whiplash.
She flashes me a smile and I hand over her things. "I apologize again. Too focused on looking at footwear," I chuckled and she gives me a small grin.
"Like I said, it's no problem. I didn't see you either," she says as we both stood up from the position we were in. "From your accent, I'm guessing you're not from here?" She asked me. Holy shit, I didn't want her to stop talking.
I give her a sheepish smile. "Yeah, that obvious huh?" I said, rubbing the back of neck with my hand, then pushing my hair back.
"Just a tad bit." She giggled and brushed her hair behind her ear.
"I'm Nate, by the way." I introduced. I stuck my hand out, hoping she would accept it and lucky for me, she did.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Nate. I'm Y/N. You must be a long way from home. What brings you here?" She wondered as she slowly started to gaze at the shoes in front of her. I really didn't want to stop talking to her, so I followed her actions.
"I'm on tour. I'm performing tonight actually. A place not too far from here," I admit and she looks at me with widen eyes.
"Wait, hold on. Nate? You don't happen to be Nate Maloley? Or, uh, well Skate, if that's what you prefer." She looked at me, shocked but it was definitely cute.
I couldn't help but laugh at her reaction. "Yeah, the one and only." I say confidently. "Nate, Skate, whatever-"
"You wanna call me, I'm good either way?" She finished a lyric to my song.
"Oh, so you listen to my music?" I laughed.
"Uh, yeah kind of. I mean, I'm a pretty new fan, but I do quite enjoy the music you put out. A friend of mine is a big fan of your work and he invited me to your performance tonight. It was going to be my first time actually seeing you in person," she laughed.
"Oh, well I really do hope you come. It would be nice seeing you again, after this." She smirks at me and I see a guy walk up behind her, placing his hand on her shoulders.
"There you are, I need-" He looks up at me and his eyebrows shoot up. "Woah, wait. You're Skate!" He points out. We catch a few stares from other customers in the store. I look at Y/N who is clearly having second hand embarrassment.
I couldn't help but smile at the fact that I did have guy supporters out there as well. "Sup man," I causally say, bringing my hand out for him to cup. He does and I see Y/N bite down on her bottom lip. "I'm guessing you're the friend that turned Y/N here to my music?" I chuckled, bringing the attention back to her.
