The cold winter air hit me like a ton of bricks. "Oh my god, can you hurry and open your door Nate. I'm literally freezing my ass off out here. I don't think I can feel my fingers anymore," I whined as Nate attempted to unlock his front door.

"Hold on, babe. I don't even know what you're complaining about, it's not even that cold right now. Just wait until there's five feet of snow out here, then talk to me about it being cold." He chuckles, teasing the fact that I wasn't used to having the temperature drop to the point where it started snowing. "By the way, Sam is coming over just to let you know." He adds before I hear a click from the front door indicating that it was unlocked. "Ladies first," he says sarcastically, giving me a cheeky smile as he stepped aside.

I playfully roll my eyes and stepped into his house. I was more than glad to feel the warm air fill up the entire house. I take off the coat that Nate let me borrow and hung it on the coat rack near the door.

"Aye, yo wait, don't close the door!" We hear someone call out. From the laugh, I knew it was Sam. He walks into the house and shakes off the snow that fell on him as he was walking. He ruffles his hair and runs his fingers through it. He takes off his coat and all three of us are left in our sweaters. "Thanks for letting me come over," he tells Nate as they give each other a bro hug.

"It's no problem." He says in return.

"You don't mind third wheeling?" I asked, sarcastically, giving Sam a little nudge with my elbow.

"Psh, you're going to be the one whose third wheeling tonight, Y/N." Sam's responses were always witty whenever I talked about mine and Nate's relationship, which I didn't mind at all.

"Well, okay. If things do get heated between you two, I'll just go up to Nate's room." I smirked and I felt Nate place his arm over my shoulder.

"Okay, enough. There's no need to fight over me." Nate says in a cocky tone, making me roll my eyes at his statement.

We both head down to the basement and I couldn't help but feel the uncomfortable cold returning. Not wanting to make a big deal, I just shrugged it off. I take a place on the couch as Nate and Sam grab the controllers to play a game. I grab Nate's laptop and open up Netflix so I'd be occupied as they were in their own world.

As they continued playing, I got colder by the minute. I crossed my arms in hopes it would keep me warm, but that didn't hide the shivering of my body against his. I see Nate look at me from the corner of my eye with a concerned look on his face. He pauses the game, causing Sam to let out a frustrated groan, knowing he was painfully close to winning the game.

"Are you cold? Do you need a blanket?" He asked.

I looked up at him and sheepishly nodded my head.

"I'll be right back." Nate disappears up the stairs leaving me alone with Sammy who looked worried with the intensity that my trembling had on my body.

"Hey, are you that cold?" He asked, moving closer to me. I didn't say a word because he already knew the answer. "Guess it was a bad idea to bring you home during the winter time, huh?" He let out a small laugh, trying to lighten up the mood. I gave him a small smile and he wraps his arm around me, rubbing it up and down my arm trying to warm my body up. I leaned further into him, trying to capture his body heat.

Although, I knew it was slightly wrong to be cuddling with my boyfriend's best friend, I was more focused on trying not to get too cold to the point where I could get sick. Soon enough, Nate comes back down with a wool blanket, but stops at the bottom of the stairs when he sees Sam and I in the position we were in. His eyebrows crease and Sam and I pull away from each other. He hands me the blanket and walks back upstairs without saying a word to either of us.

"Shit, is he mad?" I asked Sam who just shrugs his shoulders. "I'm going to go check on him." I said, wrapping the blanket around me and walking up the stairs. I see him standing in front of the counter, pouring hot water into a mug.

"Are you okay?" I asked, careful not to make him more upset.

"Fine." He simply replies.

I lean my back against the counter and looked at him, who didn't bother making eye contact with me. "He was just trying to keep me warm, it was nothing special." I reassured him as he opened a hot chocolate packet and poured it into the mug.

"You sure?" He asked, still not making eye contact with me.

I gently turn his face so that he was looking at me. "I'm sure." I tell him, looking at him directly into his eyes. "I don't see him in any way aside from just a friend. You know that."

He takes a spoon and stirs the content until the water was a rich brown color. Neither of us said another word, but he did hand me the cup of hot chocolate. I thank him and in return he gives me a smile and a kiss on the forehead. "But I don't like you cuddling with anyone besides myself," he says against my skin, then pulling back.

"Got it." I giggled, giving him a quick peck on the cheek.
