I think it's so stupid how much people glamourise disorders now a days. I was just scanning through We Heart It and found this:Bulimia isn't a long haired pretty girl bending over a toilet with a tragically beautiful face on. It's a puffed miserable face with vomit dripping from their chin and a fucking nose bleed. Anorexic isn't a slim figure shyly refusing a cupcake. It's hair growing over your malnourished body. Depression isn't a model with running mascara staring into the sunset. It's staring at the ceiling at 4 in the morning with your eyes burning because you can't find the motivation to close them. Self harm isn't lovely boys/girls kissing your arms telling you you're still beautiful. It's nasty ducking scars that will be there forever and showers that sting. Panic attacks aren't burying your face into a loved ones arms while them telling you it's ok. It's feeling out of control and like oxygen is being taken from you. Mental illnesses aren't beautiful. They don't make you special and don't make people suddenly care about you. They're monsters that destroy lives. So stop taking them lightly and promotion them to impressionable teenagers on the damn internet.
Honestly, while I read this it made me think how much disorders and mental illnesses are promoted and are shown to be glamorous. If we saw an animal that was basically skin and bones we would feel sorry for it. But for a human, it's presented as beautiful. All he mental illnesses are shown in the total wrong way. They are horrid and showing them as beautiful things is horrid!
