He decided to leave her with a plate of cake and some milk and go to the back court to meet that asshole, also known as Peter Kang,  with Mark to fight for his homework back.

"Science, history, and math. All of it, hand it over Wang." Peter held his hand out.

"No. Give us our homework back, Kang." Jackson used Peter's last name on purpose, knowing Peter would throw the first punch.

Peter's face twisted into one of rage.

"You don't throw the orders around here, Jackson, now hand it over." One of his smarter, and only female friend who wasn't his girlfriend, said sharply.
Her snapback was resting sideways on her head, and one hand on her hip.

"Gina's right, give it up."

"Leave him alone!!"

Mark gaped at the sight.

Unity, now wearing a pair of low combat boots and athletic shorts with a blue top, and her arms crossed stood at the edge of the court.

But that's not what he was gaping at.
She had somehow gotten here in less than five minutes, and he doubted she knew how to use the subway.

Peter sneered at her. "Now you need your girlfriend to fight for you?" He spat.

Unity rolled her eyes.

"I'm not his girlfriend, Peter."

Peter's expression changed and he eyed Unity up and down.

"Oh, so you're free huh? Whadda you say we ditch this guy and go have some real fun?"

Jackson expected her to accept. He wasn't going to lie, Peter was one of the girl magnets of the school.
He was a smooth talker, big and buff, and smart enought to skate past school.

Unity didn't.

"Real fun? You want me to hurt you!?" She clenched her fists and for a moment he saw her eyes glow a dangerous blue.

"Unity!" He snapped.

She looked at him, and Jackson saw her eyes die down.

"Let's go. I can finish my homework on my own anyway."

Peter started to say something, but suddenly Unity turned and snarled loudly at him.
"Leave us alone."

And he decided to take her arm and hurry back home before she could do something he would have to pay for.

Unity ripper her arm out of Jackson's grip and gave him a confused look.

"He was going to hurt you." She said softly. "Why did you stop me?"

He sighed, running a hand through his hair.

"It's complicated. Let's just go inside."
