You sprinted through the trees at a high speed, loose branches snapping at you. The only sound in the midnight air that could be heard was the sound of your heavy breathing and the sharp snap of twigs under your bare feet. Well, and the yelling of angry Highblood soldiers behind you. Afterall, you did just escape custody and that just was a majour no-no. Your ragged breaths became more and more laboured as your strides became more inconsistent. You ran faster, eyes locked forwards as two dark figures were seen in the near distance. If they were soldiers, you were screwed. If they were low bloods, they are screwed. As you ran towards them, you could see their characteristics more clear. One wore a royal green, like ivy on an ancient wall. The other, red, an abnormal shade of it. You could tell that they were considered low bloods and you thought I'd be nice to give them a head start.
"Run! RUN!" You screamed, your voice coming out in sudden gasps, making it difficult for your words to sound intelligible. Now you could see their grey faces in the bright moonlight.
"Please just run!" You persisted, your words actually sounding out correctly as they turned their backs to you and started running. You heard the yelling come closer as you could hear the crackling of the fire on their torches. An arrow whistled by your ear, nicking the shell of it. Cold tears poured out of your eyes as you kept moving. Either you were speeding up or the people were slowing down because now, the green and red people were now closer than ever.
"Darling, It'll All Be Fine. Don't Give Up Just Yet." An angelic voice said as you now ran in between the two. "Keep Running Until We Get To That Hill; Then Roll. The Soldiers Will Turn Back." You nodded as the hump of the hill came into view. Closer as closer until you felt the right moment to drop and start spinning. The cloaked figures did the same and within seven seconds, you were on the valley floor heading to a more sense forest. The voice was right, the soldiers stopped and turned around, but not before yelling cruel things about your low blood colour. You were about five minutes into the forest before you were able to stop running for your life. You hunched over, trying to gather all the air you could manage.
"Are you all right?" The red figure said, taking of their hood. 'Holy shit, that's one good looking troll.' You thought as a (b/c) hue painted across your sweaty grey skin.
"Just peachy. I'm Y/N." You shook both of their hands. "Thank you for saving my life."
"It's Only What A Sister Would Do For Another. I'm Dolorosa. This Is The Sufferer," "Or Signless." "We Hope We Didn't Cause Any Harm." Dolorosa said with sweet sincerity.
"On the contrary, I deeply apologise if I caused either of you time." You bowed in embarrassment for dragging the lovely people down with you. Signless shook his head and wrapped an arm over you shoulder.
"Don't worry about it, you're just fine."
