Modern AU!
________________________The rain splattered on the classroom's window as the time ticked by. It was finally the god forbidden Finals Week and to say that you were screwed is an understatement. You studied you ass off, working from the moment you got home until you passed out from exhaustion. You've been preparing since the start off the school year and you still didn't feel ready.
You turned back to your pencil and page as words filled your head in one giant confusing glob. You set your pencil down and sighed quite loudly. Loud enough for the prissy asshat on your right to shoosh you as well as flip you off. Rolling your eyes, you turned to your left to see your best friend snoring away in the nasty public school desk.
"Dave." *groan*
"Dave." *groan*
"DAVID ELIZABETH STRIDER." You whisper barked as his head shot straight up.
"No more puppets, Bro." He said suddenly, obviously startled. You let out a quiet chuckled as you could feel his glare nearly melting the lens of his shades.
"It's Finals, bro. Not nap time."
"Stfu." You choked on laughter, shocked that Dave would say something as ridiculous as that. Without a second hesitation you zipped through the rest of your test. You filled in your last answer as Dave was getting done with the first page.
"You're screwed, boiiii" you hummed as he just stuck his tongue out at you. You scoffed and stuck a pair of headphones over your head. You listened to some music and before you could say "irony" the bell rung. Luckily Dave finished just in time.
"Come on, John wanted to meet up after school." Dave stated as he grabbed your wrist and dragged you down the hallway. With this unnatural Strider speed, you felt like:
1: your legs were going to fall off.
2: like a flag in the wind because your limbs couldn't react fast enough.
Suddenly you found yourself at the front of the school, sitting on a bench. You just sat there with Dave sitting quietly next to you. Hours seemed to pass with no sign of the bucktoothed boy. The sun started setting as you sat in shock.
"John already is at home, isn't he?" You questioned, not even making contact with Dave.
"Yep."
"I've been sitting here with you for hours?"
"Yep."
"You know what? I'm okay with that."
