One second, they were walking to get pizza, the next they were making out in their living room. Everything was moving so fast, it was like a blur and John couldn't comprehend what was going on.

"One month," Alex whispered, pressing his lips against John's. "One month, that's all, alright?"

John, looking back, was so stupid to agree to this. I mean, who in their right mind agrees to a month relationship? But his crush, his yearning for Alex, had clouded his judgement. So much that he so foolishly went along with Alex's little game. Besides, he had thought, everything is ephemeral, so it was okay. Letting himself succumb to his feelings for Alex, just for a month, it was okay. How stupid I was, he thought. Yet, he did it.

"Okay," He breathed, taking Alex's bottom lip into his mouth. "Okay."

Alex wrapped his arms around John's waist, moving them up and down his back, in sort of a soothing motion.

Things began to get heated, so the pair moved it to the bedroom.

(not writing about this bc I'm a innocent smol child, do not harm me)

Alex had fallen asleep in John's bed, his arms were looped around John's waist. Soft snores escapes his pursed lips, the sound floating into John's ear. John felt happy, content, in that moment. As the illuminated moonlight streamed into the dark room from the open window, and a soft summer breeze drifted in. Frankly, it was everything that John had wanted since he had laid eyes on the young male.

He wished that this would last forever, as he leaned his head back into Alex's shoulder.

Oh well, he thinks, sleepily, I'll savor it while it lasts.

And then, his eyelids went heavy and sleep overcame his body.

With Alexander next to him, it was the best sleep he's had in ages.

Alexander woke up in a different bed. He was confused for a second, why the hell was he in John's room? And then the memories flooded back into his mind. A soft grin with a hint of a smirk crossed his mouth.

Maybe, just maybe, he could have it all. He could have John now, Eliza later. Maybe it could work out. Yes, that's a wicked thing to do to two people you love, but Alex was desperate at this moment. The words of his father from when he was young were seemingly imprinted into his mind. He wasn't supposed to love John. Yet his feelings for the man were too strong to be ignored or shoved aside. So if it was just one month, what's the harm?

He sat up in the bed, rubbing his eyes, sleep still in his body. His hair was a bit messy, so he ran a hand over it to try and tame it. Finally, he swing his legs over the side of John's bed, so they dangled off the edge. He got up and walked out.

John, being the cheery person that he was, was already ups dow whistling as he cooked breakfast.

"Good morning sleepyhead," He said.

"Morning," Alex grumbled, pouring himself some lukewarm coffee and tilting his head back to drink it.

The two said nothing and relished in the silence. Both were glad that the past night's events were not brought up. It was simply too awkward at the moment.

"Pancakes?" John asked. "Or eggs?"

"Pancakes, please." Alex said, still groggy.

"No problem." John said, placing a soft kiss on Alex's cheek. He just couldn't resist it. On one hand, he didn't want to make things weird...but Alex was just so damn cute and he had to do something to show his affections.

Alex's cheeks burned, but he said nothing. He couldn't help smile, however, making John's grin grow even bigger.

John placed a plate, piled with three pancakes and some berries and syrup, in front of Alex.

"Thanks," Alex barely got out before stuffing nearly an entire pancake into his mouth. John said nothing and just shook his head and chuckled.

He sat down on the opposite seat of Hamilton, beginning to eat his own breakfast.

"So..." John said, after Alex had finished and they had stirred in quietness for about 10 minutes.

"So." Alex said, letting a small yawn escape from his mouth. He still needed to catch from sleep from all the all-nighters he had pulled the end of June, in attempts to perfect every essay and ensure A's on every test.

"Just July," John mumbled. And Alex nodded, solemnly.

John looked down at his almost empty plate. He felt a mixture of both happiness and stupidity in that moment. The fact that his love for Alex blinded him to the point where he'd be so naive made him feel so idiotic. But the fact that he was gonna be spending the month with the boy he'd dreamed of for what seemed like forever, that was the happiness within him.

He finally looked up and beamed at Alex. Alex grinned back. He shakily reached his hand out forward. John did the same so their hands met in the middle. Their fingers laced around each other. It was a perfect fit.

Traces of: i wish it was forever filled Alex's mind. He wished he could always hold John's hand.

"No son of mine is gonna like boys, do you understand??!!" yelled Alex's father as Alex quivered in a corner.

"Yes father," He said, squeezing his eyes shut.

Alex mentally winced. No, it wasn't what was considered 'appropriate.' He couldn't disobey his father like that. Besides, he loved Eliza (right?), and he couldn't be so mean and heartless as to drop her like that.

He looked up at John and locked eyes with him. He was just so perfect and pretty. At least he could enjoy it while it lasted. He could love John while he could.

And enjoy it he did.
