( Alison )
I was looking through my Instagram feed when the lights suddenly came back on. I glanced down on the track and saw people in colorful leather suits walk out on the track. It was hard to see their faces since we're so far away. I need to get a better look before they take on their helmets so I grabbed my dad's binoculars and started my investigation.
I moved my gaze from driver to driver until I saw something I did not expect. I pushed my short friend in the side to get her attention. ''Aria?''
Once her eyes was ripped of off the track I had her full attention. ''Mhm?''
''Is there girls in this sport?''
''Yeah we have three female drivers on our team.'' She explained while pointing at a group of people on the track. ''You should know that by now.'' She added.
I gave her a confused look. ''What do you mean?''
''Geez you really need to start pay attention to your friends Ali. Spencer and I have been talking about Speedway almost every day and if you just stopped starring at boys all the time you would understand!'' Her calmed tone wasn't that calm anymore and it made me speechless. She never raises her voice at me but I guess I just passed a line.
''Sorry..Can you explain it to me one more time?'' I tried. At first she didn't give in but I was prepared for it. I gave her my best puppy eyes and a second later I had solved the problem.
''Fine! Every team has seven drivers, five with good speed records and two newbies. Every heat are divided into three laps and a final lap. If a driver manage to get a good start in the first corner then the driver is most likely to win the heat since it's all about reaching the corners first. Do you understand?''
''I think so..''
She took a deep breath and continued. ''Good! We are rooting for drivers with blue and red helmets since we're in our stadium, guest drivers always have the white and the yellow helmet. The winner gets three points, second place gets two point, third place gets one point and the fourth place gets nothing, okay?''
I nodded at her and turned my attention back to the track. ''Jesus christ..'' I mumbled once I realized how much information she just told me. Now I need to keep this in my head or I'll get lost fast.
Suddenly I remembered the reason why I asked her about it in the first place. ''Ar you never told me who the female drivers are?''
''Oh..Right! Spencer is one of them--''
''What?! Spencer is on the team?'' I blurted out.
''Yes she's been for almost three years now.''
''God..I really need to pay more attention to you guys.''
She rolled her eyes. ''Yeah you should.''
I was going to ask her about the others but got interrupted by the speaker.

After the speaker had explained everything from the past two games he finally stopped talking and turned the music back on. I've never been this bored. Can it please begin before I get up and leave?
''Two minutes to the first heat people, two minutes!'' He added.
I glanced up on the big tv-screen that's hanging from the ceiling and saw the countdown begin. Four drivers on their motorcycles drove out on the track and started to prepare themselves for the first heat. They drove up to the start line.
The engine on those bikes are not really silent. It sounds worse than the lawnmower in the morning. I checked the countdown. 3..2..1..

***** It's a slow start but don't worry, it will get heavier soon. Y'all need some basic information before we can go all in or it will be weird for those of you who haven't seen a speedway match before.
One more thing! First ''Heat'' is the same as the first round. *****
