Our Own Little Christmas

Jordan's POV
Mom and Dad have started filling out papers to get a divorce. They sat both Lacey and me down and told us about it the day after my outburst. We both understood of course and then they went on to explain that they agreed on joint custody for me but that I would stay here with mom so I could finish school. Dad was moving to London to be closer to his work. He said I could visit him during the Summer and he would come back here for holidays. I explained the whole me being Gay thing. I officially came out to them and they completely accepted me. Which I was glad they did. It was now Christmas Eve and Mom and Dad were both out talking to their Lawyers. They weren't going to come back until well next year since they were both staying at a motel saying they needed time for themselves. "Dude this sucks!" I say flopping on the couch next to Lacey. "I know it does dude but it's for the best." She says "I'm not talking about the divorce. I'm talking about how Mom and Dad aren't going to be here to celebrate Christmas or the New Year." I say sighing "Hey remember when you were 13 and I was 15 and we had like a mini Christmas since Mom and Dad were out on a business trip?" She asks "Yea? Can we do that again?" I ask "Yea except this time it's gonna be even better! Come on!" She says grabbing her keys off of the coffee table. "Where are we going?" I ask "Where do you think?" She asks sarcastically as we make a left turn going towards the town jail. I smiled brightly knowing exactly what we were doing. "Hey Officer James!" I say as we walked in. "Jordan? I didn't expect you until the new year." He says as he goes to shake our hands. However I gave him a fist bump because shaking hands is for old people. "Well change of plans. We'd like to take Demi out until the New Year." I say "Is that okay with your folks?" He says "Um well they are kinda not in the house right now." I say "I'll go get Demi while Lacey explains everything." I went the familiar route of where they dragged me in here. "Hey Officer Dominguez!" I say "Jordan what are doing in here?" She asks "Getting Demi of course. Could I borrow a key?" I ask "Yea sure here" she says handing me the key that opens the cell doors. I went over to Demi's cell door and unlocked it. I saw her sleeping in her bed so I climbed on and started shaking her. "Demi!!" I say "Kid? What the hell!" She says surprised I laugh "Sorry to scare you Demi. Come on you're spending Christmas with Lacey and I" I say "Awesome!" She says getting out of her bunk. I jump on her back as she grabs my legs while I wrap my arms around her neck. I gave Officer Dominguez the key back then we met back up with Officer James and Lacey. "Be good Demi and Merry Christmas!" Officer James says Demi nods and says the same back to him. Lacey laughs at the two of us as Demi sets me back on the floor. "Let's get out of here!" Demi says as we head back to the car. On the way back home we explained everything to Demi. "Damn I'm sorry to hear that guys" She says as we turn on our street. "It's okay we knew it would happen eventually. We're just happy if they are happy." Lacey says "So how did they take you coming out?" Demi asks me. "Surprisingly well. I was actually expecting them to kick me out since they were homophobic when I was growing up." I explain "if they did then I would've had your back kid. You could've gotten me out of that jail and escaped to Canada change our names and I would raise you as my own." Demi says over dramatically. "Whoa slow your roll there Dems. I could've just lived with Lacey." I say chuckling "Yea that could've worked too" Demi says as we all laugh getting out of the car. We all walked inside and sat on the couch. "Now what?" Demi asks "I don't remember. Do you remember Jordan?" Lacey asks "Well at the time I still believed in Santa so we made cookies for him." I say "How old were you kid?" Demi asks "13 let's just say Lacey over here spoiled the Christmas magic when she was putting present under the tree." I say "So you believed in Santa until you were 13!" Demi says laughing "Yea yea laugh it up!" I say "But what do you guys say?" "I say hell yeah! I'd love some chocolate chip cookies!" Demi says "Lace?" I ask "Sure sounds fun!" She says I smile as we all head over to the kitchen. We got out the ingredients and started making them. "Can I have some cookie dough?" I say sitting up on the counter while Lacey reads the directions and Demi stirs the batter. "Sure kid here have some!" Demi says putting some on my nose. "Hey!" I say getting it off while she just laughs. "Hey can you still do that thing with your tongue?" Lacey asks "That's what she said!" Demi says as I snort out a laugh. "Ew no gross! Not that thing!" Lacey says "You mean this?" Demi says touching her tongue to her nose. "No way! You can do that! That's so cool!" I say as she laughs "Yea I guess" she says as we continue to make the cookies. We put the cookies in the oven and then we are back on the couch. "Now what?" I say "Well there's a Christmas marathon going on right now what do you say we watch that!" Lacey says "Yea! I love Christmas movies!" Demi says like a five year old. Lacey and I laugh as I turn on the tv. The Grinch Who Stole Christmas was on and I smiled this was one of my favorites growing up. The cartoon version. The other version is just creepy. While the movie was going on we cuddled and took out the cookies and ate them. We stayed up watching Christmas movies until I fell asleep. "Babe wake up! It's Christmas!" Lacey says "What the hell! What time is it?" I say "Midnight!" Demi says "Leave me alone!" I say cuddling back into the couch. "Looks like somebody doesn't want to open her presents." Lacey says I shot up and went straight for Lacey's present knowing she always gave the best presents. I opened it to find "Oh my god! It's the penny board I wanted! Thank you!!!" I say attacking her "You're welcome babygirl. The penny board was back but it had a galaxy theme on the underside. "That's hella dope dude!" Demi says as I opened the rest of my presents. I got some clothes from mom,some shoes from dad and an ITunes gift card from Derek. "Hey you know what you can do with that?" Demi asks obviously seeing my Disappointment. "Buy music" I say sarcastically "Well yes but you know what else?" She asks I shrugged Demi and Lacey both smirked at each other. "Buy Body Say on iTunes!!!!" They both scream "what the hell?!?!" I say "It was my last single on iTunes. You've gotten buy it." Demi says "Alright I will as soon as Lacey opens her present." I say handing her the present I got her. "Jordan you didn't have to get me anything" Lacey says ruffling my hair. "Lace I'm 17 of course I needed to get you something." I say as she smiles and opens the gift. "Jordan how did you get this?" She asks as she pulls out a red dress that she's been wanting since September. "I've been saving up to buy it for you." I say since that jerk of a boyfriend never pays attention to her and buys her cheap gifts. She deserves better. "Thank you Jordan." She says hugging me and kissing my head. "Alright now buy Body Say and listen to it. I wanna see your reaction!" Demi says smiling like well a kid on Christmas. "Isn't this the song that you ran around the house screaming after you heard it?" I ask Lacey recognizing the cover art. "No now shut up and listen to it!" Lacey says as Demi chuckles. I laughed as I bought the song with the card and listened to it for the first time. "What the fuck did you make me listen to?" I say absolutely horrified. "So did you like it?" Demi asks "The song is good but I will never look at you the same way ever again." I say as they both laugh. "Alright this was fun but I gotta go. I promised Derek I would Skype him. Night baby girl. Night Demi." Lacey says going upstairs. We both yelled a goodnight as I sat back on the couch. "Still don't like the guy do you?" Demi asked sitting next to me "No. He seriously doesn't deserve my sister. You know he was there when Lacey pointed out that dress. But he was too busy doing something on his phone like he always is. I swear he's cheating on my sister. One time I saw the name Melissa pop up on his phone and beside it the red heart emoji." I say "Have you told your sister?" She asks "And break her heart what are you insane?! When we go up there to meet that actress. I'm getting down to the bottom of this." I say "I'll help you. We do make a great team." She says "Thanks Demi." I say yawning "Looks like someone needs to go night night." Demi says in a baby voice. "Dude I'm 17 you know that right?" I say "Oh I know but you're just so damn cute!" She says pinching my cheeks. I rolled my eyes as we both decided to go to my room and get some rest. "Night Demi" I say cuddling into her. "Night kid" she says kissing my head. I sighed as I drifted off to sleep.
