Heading Back Home

Jordan's POV
Demi and I spent almost a whole two extra weeks because of my recovery. But now I'm fully healed and all that's left is a scar. So now it's time to head back home. "Drive safe okay?" Lacey says as I hug her Goodbye although it's more like a see you later. "I will and if the asshole ever bothers you again don't be afraid to give me a call." I say "What so you can get shot again?" She asks jokingly  "No so I can return the favor this time!" I say as she laughs "Take care of yourself Lace." I say hugging her again "You too babe." She says I go over to Mason and give him a quick bro hug. "Take care of my sister man. And if I hear that you're not I will personally drive over here and hand you your sorry ass on a silver fucking plate understand?" I say getting a little overprotective. He laughs knowing how I am. "Okay shorty I'd love to see you try." He says "Shut up Giant!" I say laughing and playfully punching him. I hug Nate and Cassie and then I go over to Alex. "So..." I say trailing off trying to find the right words to say. I mean School doesn't end for another few months and then Summer. Hell we don't even know if I'm going to attend UCLA or not. "Babe I know you well enough to know that you're worried about something." She says I sigh "It's just this might be the last time for a while that I'm going to see you in person. Like I know it's not that hard to drive an hour up here to see you but I honestly don't know if either of us will have the time." I say looking down "Hey." She says putting her hand under my chin making me look into her green eyes. "We'll make time baby. Look I know things are crazy right now and you're probably stressed because it is your senior year. But I promise that it's all going to pay off in the end. And there's always texting,phone calls and FaceTime." She says as I smirk "And Sexting,Phone sex and StrippingTime." I say laughing "Um excuse me Dirty Mind do you mind I'm trying to have a moment with my sweet innocent little Jordan." Alex says "Jordan was and never will be innocent ever again." Lacey says "That's a true statement." I say "Oh shut up and-" "Love Me!" Demi interrupts "No Demi you corner now!" I say pointing somewhere "But-" she says pouting "Go!" I say "Last time I checked I was the adult." She muttered under her breath. "Where's that spray bottle?" I say "I'm going!" She says as we all laugh. "Where were we?" I say looking back at Alex. She smiles as she pulls me by the waist and kisses me. "One Hour Later" Nate says like that guy in SpongeBob. "Alright Lovebirds that's enough. Jordan and I got somewhere to be." Demi says pulling me away from Alex. "But I thought I put you in the corner." I says "No one puts Me in the corner especially not you kid." She says playfully shoving me towards the car. We wave at them all as I pull out of the student parking. "See ya soon UCLA." I say as I drive away from the school.
An hour of Karaoke and almost crashing Later.
"Well this is my stop good luck kid and try not to piss off your parents too much. I'd like to see you in one piece tomorrow." Demi says as I park in my regular spot at the station. "No promises Dems." I say with innocent smile as she rolls her eyes and ruffles my hair. She gets out of the car and I watch her walk in safely. I sigh backing out of the parking space and headed down the highway to my house. It was only 9 pm and I knew my dad already had moved to England so that left me with Mom. I parked in the driveway and went to go unlock the door but my mom beat me to it. She instantly pulled me into a hug and kissed my forehead. "Don't you ever do that to me again." She says as I hug her back. "I won't mom. I'm sorry I just got upset and acted on impulse." I say "It's Okay sweetheart just next time try talking to us like an adult. You're almost 18 so it's important that you learn how to do that." She says lecturing me basically. "Oh yeah I am almost 18 huh time flies." I say "Way too fast! My little baby's all grown up." She says "Mom! I'm not a baby!" I say "You'll always be my baby. Whether you're 18 or 38 I'll still always think of you as my baby." She says I rolled my eyes. "Alright well driving through LA traffic was exhausting so I think I'm going to hit the hay early." I say kissing my mom's cheek. "Goodnight Mom love you." I say going upstairs "Love you too Jordan." She says. I opened the door to my bedroom and flopped on my bed. Of course I wasn't going to sleep. Not yet at least. I always have to have a late night conversation with Demi. It's tradition and the nights that we don't talk are the nights that I can't fall asleep. "Lovato you awake?" I say through the walki "Am I ever asleep?" She asks sarcastically. "Only when I wait too long to talk to you." I say chuckling "True anyways how'd your parents react to you coming home?" She asks "God you made it sound like I ran away." I say as she laughs her obnoxious but also contagious laugh. "Well hate to be the one to break it to ya kid but you kinda did." She says "Dad's already in England but he texted me a whole 3 page essay on why I shouldn't do this again and Mom hugged me when I got home,gave me the whole 'I'm almost an adult speech' and now here I am." I say "Speaking of almost being an Adult. What are we doing for your 18th birthday?" She asks I rolled my eyes. I didn't really like people making a big fuss over my birthday. I never did. I've never had a birthday party and the least I'll do is blow candles on a cake that my parents get me every year. "I don't know. What did you do for your 18th birthday?" I ask "I checked into a treatment facility called Timberline Knolls." She answers "Right. You and my sister have told me that. But seriously Demi I really don't want you to stress over it being my birthday in a couple of weeks. It's just another day." I say "Well deal with it kid because whether you like it or not we are doing something special for your birthday" she says I roll my eyes. "Okay whatever." I say as she laughs. "Hey kid?" Demi says "Yea Demi?" I say "Do you really think we can win this? The court case I mean." She says I sit up so that my back is now leaning on the headboard. "Of course I do! I mean we've got the actress,we've got the footage and we have an awesome lawyer on your case. The best in the business. Wilmer's got nothing. His ass is going to rot in jail. Are you having doubts?" I ask "Kinda. You see kid. Wilmer knows a lot about my past. He knows some things that not even the people closest to me know. And if he brings that kind of stuff up in court. I'll be done for." She says I can just see her sitting on her bed running her fingers through her hair. "Okay then we'll just have to prove that you don't do stuff like that anymore. Hell I'll even go on record and say that I've spent what the past. 7 months with you and you have done nothing to abuse or take advantage of me." I say "except for that one kiss we had in the park." She says "Okay 1. That was a dare and 2. It's not like anyone was stalking us at midnight and took a picture just in time to capture that moment." I say "True. Thanks again Kid." She says "No need to thank me Demi just don't forget to give me a shout out when you win that Grammy for best album of the year" I say as she chuckles "Okay ready for your song?" She asks "Always am." I say smiling as I set the walki on the night stand and let her beautiful voice fill my ears. Although I'd rather prefer for her to be here in person. This is as close as I was gonna get. For now at least anyway.
