First Day in Jail

Jordan's POV
I woke up the next morning to the yells of other inmates. "What the hell?" I say opening my eyes and looking at Demi who was wide awake. "Morning kid." She says "Is it this loud every morning?" I ask "Pretty much." She says as our cell door opens along with the others. "Alright ladies single file!" A warden shouts. Demi takes a hold of my hand as we walk out following the other inmates down to the mess hall. The food didn't look that bad. It was just a Some eggs and bacon along with a carton of milk. "So who's you little friend Lovato. She's cute!" One of the inmates say smirking at me. "You touch her I swear to god I will beat your fucking skull in! You hear me!" Demi says as I look at the women disgusted. "Aww come I just want one little kiss that's all." The women says coming closer to me. Demi grabs me and pushes me behind her. "One more fucking step and I will not hesitate. And that goes for all of you if anyone touches her I will personally dig your own grave!" Demi warns the inmates as the women backs away. "Come on kid let's go out to the yard." Demi says as she grabs my hand shooting daggers at anyone who looks at me wrong. The yard was basically just where the inmates could get some fresh air and mingle with the other inmates. "So kid welcome to jail." She says "Yea not such a warm welcome." I say looking around as other inmates just glare at me. "Don't mind them kid. Their just jealous cause I've got someone like you and they don't." She says I nod. We talked about how we think my sister is doing in New York and I tell her what I'm hoping to get for Christmas. "I'm also hoping to get front row concert tickets to your next tour once you get out." I say hinting at her. "Nah I can get you better. How about backstage passes and you can even hang with me on the bus" she says "That'd be sick man! Aw man I can't wait to book you out of this place." I say just as a group of inmates start approaching us. "So looks like the superstar has a kid." One them says "Get the fuck away from us Jade!" Demi says warning her. "Let me ask you something kid. You've got a name?" Jade asks getting closer to me. "J-Jordan" I say "Jordan. Well ain't that a pretty name for a pretty girl. My names Jade. Remember it because it's the name you'll be screaming once I take to my cell and-" Demi cuts her off by stepping in between her and me. "I don't think so. She's my kid Jade and No One is going to lay a single finger on her and whoever dares to cross me will be wishing they were dead once I get my hands on them." Demi says getting up in Jades face. "Alright Superstar. I won't touch her and neither will anyone else. But." Jade says shit there's a but this can't be good. "We have to hear her moaning your name tonight." She counties. "No fucking way! You're fucking disgusting Jade. Fucking pervert!" Demi says "If we don't then she's all mine tomorrow." Jade says sending me a wink. I feel violated. "Come on girls." Jade says as her group follows me. "Y-you're not g-gonna d-do wh-what th-they said r-right D-Demi?" I ask stuttering. She turns to look at me and her face softens. "No of course not. I'm nothing like them babe. Look I'm just gonna tell Officer James later he'll move her to another cell block and it'll be okay. Okay?" Demi says reassuring me. I nodded as she pulled me in for a hug. I inhaled her scent. Vanilla mixed with strawberries. I instantly was calm. We heard an alarm go off and then everyone went back to their cells. Demi lays on her bed while I sit in the corner of the room. "Is this all there is to do in here?" I ask her "No we could ask a ward for a book." She says I nod as I got up from my spot and looked for a ward. I saw one a female ward I figured she would be nice about it. "Excuse me ma'am?" I say she turns and looks at me and her hard stare softens for a minute. "Um could I have a book to read please?" I ask she nods and goes off. Demi sees Officer James pass by and she tells him about the situation that happen earlier. "She's a little shaken up as you can see. So could you move Jade to a different cell block?" Demi asks Officer James looks at me then back at Demi. "Yea I think I can make that happen." He says as he walks away. I sigh in relief. Glad that situation is resolved. The ward returns with a few books in her hands. "There you go. This is my favorite series and I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it." She says as I take the books and thank her as she went back to where she was. She handed me Three books. The first book was called The Hunger Games. I was intrigued by the summary so I took off the cover and started reading. Demi looked over at me curiously. "What you got there kid." She asks "A book." I say bluntly as she chuckles "Well I know that what's it called?" She asks "The Hunger Games" I answer. "No way! That's one of my favorite books and movie." She says "They made this into a movie?" I asked "You've never seen The Hunger Games?" She says shocked "No." I answer "Oh when I get out of here I am so making you watch all four of the movies with me." She says "But there's only 3 books?" I say "Yeah but they split the last book into two parts since there's a bunch of shit going down." She says I nodded as I continued reading. Another alarm went off calling us for Dinner. "Hey D! This your kid?" I hear someone say as a blonde with crystal blue eyes approaches us. "Yea. Jordan I'd like you to meet Vanessa,Vanessa this is Jordan." Demi says introducing us. "It's nice to meet you Vanessa." I say as I shyly stick my hand out to greet her. "You too kid. I saw what happened with Jade. Sorry I didn't step in." She says "It's okay." I say "Are you seriously gonna do what Jade said?" Vanessa asks Demi as we get our food. "Hell no. I don't do that shit." Demi says "Go I was about to slap the hell out of you if you said yes." She says making me chuckle. We got our food and sat at a table together. "So if you don't mind me asking. Why are you in Jail?" I ask "It's nothing big really just some assult charges I'll be out of here in two months." She explains I nod. "The kid's sister is in New York right now trying to find some evidence to prove I'm not guilty." Demi explains. "I was supposed to go too but then some asshole put me in handcuffs. Those things hurt like a bitch by the way." I say "Trust us kid we know." Vanessa says "But that's awesome how you're helping Demi get out of this hell hole." I smiled "Yea of course. If it were up to me she wouldn't spend another second in here." I say another alarm went off but instead of going back to our cell Demi lead me to a room filled with Guitars,Pianos,CDs,Vinyls and Record Players. "This is the music room kid. Where you can find pretty any instrument or Album that's out right now." Demi says while I nod. "Come on I want to show you something." She says as we sit on the piano bench and she starts playing a few chords that I recognized as the beginning to This is Me.
I've always been the kind of girl that hid my face so afraid to tell the world what I've got to say but I have this dream bright inside of me. I'm gonna let it show its time to let you know to let you know.

Her voice filled the empty room and the acoustics in here were amazing. I listened to her sing the chorus and smiled. Lacey had made me watch both movies a thousand times so I knew the words by heart.
Do you know what it's like to feel so in the dark to dream about a life where you're the shinning star. Even though it seems like it's too far away. I have to believe in myself. It's the only way.

That part of the song always gave me the chills because I could relate to the lyrics so much. I was bullied a lot in Elementry so Lacey would sing this part to try to help me. I decided to join her on joes part. Since I always sang that part with Lacey.
You're the voice I hear inside my head the reason that I'm singing I need to find you. I've gotta find you.

I guess I caught Demi off guard because she jumped but then looked at me in astonishment.

This is real this is me I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be now gonna let the light shine on me. Now I've found who I am there's no way to hold it in this is me. (You're the missing pieces I need the song inside of me) This is me yeah (You're the voice I hear inside my head the reason that I'm singing) Now I've found who I am there's no way to hold it in. No more hiding who I want to be. This is me.

We held that last note until the alarm went off then went back to our cells. "Wow kid I didn't know you could sing like that! You were incredible!" She says "Thanks" I say as I brushed my teeth. "Kid you're voice needs to be heard. Once you get me out of here I'm signing you to safe house." She says "What's Safe House?" I ask "It's a record label that I started with my friend Nick Jonas and my manager. It's a safe label where artists can take full control of their career and get themselves out there." She explains "Oh cool. Alright I'll take you up on that offer if you teach me how to play guitar and piano. Since I've always wanted to learn." I say "Yea of course I'll teach you. It'll make you better as a musician." She says I smiled as I laid down next to her. I snuggled up to her chest as I just listened to her heartbeat. Strong and steady just like her. "You know what else I'm thinking about getting once I'm out of here?" She says softly "what?" I ask. "A tattoo in honor of our relationship we had during these couple of months. I just don't know what of." She says my head snaps and my eyes meet hers. "You're serious?" I ask "Yea! I want to remember you Jordan and I want to have you around even when we're miles away from eachother." She says and that gave me an idea. "How about we get matching tattoos. Like you could get The Big Dipper and I could get the Little Dipper." I say "Okay but why would we get those two constellations." She asks "Cause it's the two constellations we pointed out before we said 'I love you' for the first time." I say "You know kid you come up with some great ideas." She says "I know" I say flipping my hair. "Shut up and go to sleep Little Dipper." She says making me laugh. "Okay Big Dipper." I say closing my eyes and falling asleep to the sound of Demi's heartbeat.
