Jordan's POV
Lacey and I leave for New York tonight at 12 so of course we decided to spend our last day at our favorite spot in town. "So what happens once you catch the bastard?" Lacey says referring to Wilmer. "Well he get locked for however many years Demi was supposed to be locked up then Demi goes back to LA while I start applying to UCLA to be closer to both you and her." I say "You really think you can get accepted into UCLA?" She asks as we are packing sandwiches into our picnic basket. "I'm confident I can get in! They can't just accept one Jones sister and not the other." I say making her laugh. "Okay but we gotta go babe. If we want to get there in time to see the sunset." She says I nodded as I got the picnic basket while she grabbed the blanket. We picked up Demi on our way over to the hiking trail. "And we walk from here." Lacey says "You could've at least gotten me hiking shoes kid." Demi says "What size are you?" I ask "7" she says I hand her an old pair of mine. "There you go Dems." I say handing them to her. We all walked the trail and just joked around and told stories. "Hey guys are we almost there?" Demi asks as she follows Lacey. "Almost" Lacey says as she Spider-Man's her way up this small slope that was like about 5 ft off the ground. I was behind Demi and once she got to where my sister was I started climbing. "Come on kid. You're holding us up" Demi teases I rolled my eyes at her "just give me a second" I say trying to find a sturdy rock. I lost my balance and next thing I know I'm falling but someone grabs my hand to prevent my fall. "I gotcha!" I hear Demi say as she pulls me up. "Holy shit you're heavy" she says I push her as we catch up to Lacey. We sat on the edge of our cliff just staring off into the sunset. "Wow the view is just absolutely breathtaking!" Demi says "Did you tell her the story of your first kiss yet?" Lacey says smirking at me. "No cause that's supposed to stay between us remember?" I say "What's supposed to stay between us?" Demi asks "The story of how I stole her first kiss" Lacey says as if she was proud of it. I know kissing your sister is incest but I swear neither one of us felt anything. "Oh I've gotta hear this one!" Demi says "ugh! Oh great!" I say sarcastically. As they laugh and Lacey proceeds to tell the story to Demi. "It happened when I was 16 and this one was 14..."
Flashback
Lacey and I both needed to get out of the house so we decided to hike up to our trail. We had a little picnic up there and talked about our week. "Hey Lace?" I ask "Yea baby?" She says "Have you ever kissed anyone?" I ask "Yes I had my first kiss when I was your age and it was the most awkward thing ever!" She says chuckling "oh" I say looking down. "What's wrong Munchkin?" She asks"Well I really like this boy and he likes me back except we've never kissed anyone so he wants to be my first kiss but I don't know how to kiss." I explain "oh I get it. You want me to show you how to kiss someone. Right?" She asks I nod "alright then I'll show you. Luckily for you I'm an expert." She says getting closer to me. "Okay so first thing you need to do is look them in the eyes like this." She says as her hazel green eyes met my dark brown ones. "You get closer so your faces are inches apart. Relax your face and then you kiss them." She says her face still close to mine "O-Okay so like this." I say kissing her on the lips. She pulls back "Yea you're a natural babe. We just can't do that ever again." She says "Why not?" I ask "Because it incest." She says "What's that?" I say she then explains it to me and then we went back home agreeing to not tell mom and dad. I kissed the boy the next day turns out he was two timing me. Asshole.
End of Flashback
"Well that makes two of us" Demi says as Lacey nods remembering the story I told her about how a game of Truth or Dare can go too far. "Alright well we better get you back to hell" I say sadly "It's been an amazing week with the both of you. Hopefully we get to do this again but this time in LA." Demi says we both nod as we took the shortcut back to the car. The night was cold and something in my gut said that something was gonna go wrong but I knew there was nothing to worry about. As long as I was with Lacey and Demi I knew I'd be safe. We pulled up to the station and see Officer James there with another cop. Officer James put the hand cuffs on Demi and out of no where the other cop pulls out a set of handcuffs and puts them on me. "Whoa what the fuck man?!" I yell "What the fuck! Let her go you son of a bitch!" Demi says trying to get out of Officer James grip. "You're under arrest" the cop says "For what?! I've done nothing wrong!" I say "Officer James tell the cop my sister did nothing wrong" Lacey says "Sorry ma'am but it's a part of the program." Officer James says as he drags Demi inside. "Lace go to New York. Find the Evidence. I'll be okay." I say "I love you Jordan" Lacey says kissing my forehead. "I love you too Lacey." I say as my eyes fill with tears as the cop drags me away from my sister. Luckily they put me in Demi's cell so once they took us out of handcuffs I ran into her arms. "Shhhh it's okay it's gonna be okay. I won't let anyone lay a single finger on you I promise." Demi says as we sit on her bed. I cried into her shirt and I just wanted to scream hoping this was just a dream. "Hey Jordan look at me." She says I look into her eyes "You're going to be okay. I'm going to protect you. I promise as long as you're with me. No one and I mean No One will hurt you. Okay?" She says brushing back my bangs. "Okay." I say as I slowly get my breathing back to normal. We lay on her bed and I couldn't sleep. I'm supposed to be a plane right now with my sister. I couldn't think of anything else so I looked up to see if Demi was awake and she was. "Can't sleep?" She asks I shook my head. "Yea same here kid." She whispers. "Demi?" I say "Yea kid?" She asks "Will you sing?" I ask she smiles "Anything for you" she says I snuggled into her side as she began to sing.
She was giving the world so much that she couldn't see and she needed someone to show her who she could be. And she tried to survive wearing her heart on her sleeve but I needed you to believe.

I listened to the second chorus trying not to fall asleep. Her voice was so soothing to me. She knew exactly the right volume to get me sleepy.
She was scared unprepared lost in the dark falling apart. I can survive with you by my side. We're gonna be alright.
She smiles and grabs my hand and as she sings this next line she intertwines our fingers.

My eyes started dropping and I could feel myself falling asleep. "Goodnight kid. Sweet dreams." Demi says as she kissed my forehead as I fell asleep in her arms. I was safe. As long as I was with her I was safe.
