Jordan's POV
"Dude I can't believe you're graduating! Where the fuck has time gone?" Demi says as I laugh while I curled another strand of my hair. "I know it seems like just yesterday you were staring me down in that visiting room and scaring me shitless." I say she chuckled as she helped me put on my graduation cap. "There. Perfect!" She says I smiled "Is this really happening? Am I really Graduating from that hell hole and going to my dream school!" I say smiling widely remembering the day I got my letter of acceptance. Demi and I screamed at the top of our lungs and my mom cried and my dad congratulated me over the phone. Lacey and Alex bawled their eyes out while the rest of my friends were just so freaking excited. "No it's all a dream babe sorry." Demi says joking "You're such an ass" I say rolling my eyes at her. We head down stairs and I see my mom standing there with tears in her eyes. "Mom already?!" I say going over to hug her. "I'm sorry I can't help it my baby is graduating. Soon you'll be graduating college and then marrying Alex and having babies and I'll be a grandma." Mom says "Whoa Mom slow down! Who the fuck said I was gonna have kids?!" I say "Yea do you really want this one to reproduce?!" Demi says as my mom chuckles while wiping her eyes. "I'll see you over there okay?" I say she nods "I'll be the one embarrassing the hell out of you." She says as I smile and hug her again. Demi and I went to my car and drove over to the school as I parked in my regular spot in the school parking lot. "Can't believe that this is probably gonna be the last time I'll be here." I say "Damn that must be crazy to think. I mean being here for four years and now you just leave to LA." Demi says I nodded I smiled. "It's bittersweet. I'm sad that I'm leaving but I'm excited for the new experiences and memories." I say "Me too kid." She says we get out of the car and Demi goes to wait for the rest of my family since she's not allowed in until the graduation ceremony actually starts. I sat with the rest of my class and we all sat in alphabetical order. We had rehearsed this at least a thousand times before. I took a deep breath as people started filling in seats. I almost cried when I saw that Lacey was there and so was My beautiful girlfriend Alex and the rest of my friends. I even saw Officer James and his wife and their little boy Cody. I smiled they were all here. The only person who was missing was my dad but he said he couldn't make it because of some meeting he was having with his company. Which I completely understood but luckily mom was filming my whole speech so he'd be able to see it. "Hello and Welcome to the graduation ceremony of 2017!" The principal says as the crowd erupts into cheers. "I'd like to invite our Valedictorian Jordan Jones to speak." He says as my family cheers the loudest of course. I took a deep breath and stepped up to the podium. "Hello. Thank you all for being here. Today is a very special day for all of us but we couldn't have made it without all of you. Now I'm going to tell you about 3 important people in my life and how they have helped me to get to where I am now. The first are my parents. I would not be alive if it weren't for them literally. So uh thanks Mom and Dad." I say as the audience chuckles. "No but seriously I think they are the ones who just kept pushing me because they knew I could do better. My mom's a nurse so she works long shifts sometimes but she's always managed to make time for my sister and I. My dad is a lawyer in England and while he now lives there he always makes sure that I'm doing my homework or studying for the next test. My parents decided to divorce this year and while that was hard to go through I just pushed through it because I knew if I let affect me then I wouldn't be able to graduate and I certainly did not want to spend another year here." The audience laughs as I smile. "The next person I want to talk about is my sister Lacey. Lacey was going into her sophomore year in high school my freshman year. She already had a group a friends and she already knew the ins and outs of the school. While she did annoy me and she knew how to push my buttons. She also helped me study for my Chemistry tests or when I needed a break She and her friends would take me to the movies or something just to take my mind off of whatever was bugging me. I think one of the biggest reasons why I was so successful all throughout high school was because my sister was my inspiration. She always stayed up late on school nights to finish an essay and she would do anything to make sure she always had straight As. She was the Valedictorian last year and she was delivering a speech while i was sitting in those chairs watching her with amazement. I just remember thinking. 'Wow! I want to be there next year' and now here I am. So thanks sis!" I looked over at Lacey and saw tears streaming down her face but she smiling and she looked so proud. I looked over at Demi and smiled I hadn't told her that I was going to talk about her in my speech. "Last but certainly not least I'd like to talk about a person who I met just 10 months ago. And her name is Demetria Devonne Lovato. Or just Demi Lovato." I say as I look at Demi and she sits there shocked. "I actually met Demi because I was assigned to spend every day with her until school got out. At the time she was in jail for a crime that she did not commit. She was framed by her ex boyfriend. While I knew all of this I was working on getting a case to prove Demi's innocence. All while this was happening i got to know her, spend time with her and even got to experience what it was like to be in jail and believe me it's not a place I want to go back to." I say as I see Demi and Officer James chuckle. "Through this however I got to get to know someone I never in a million years thought I'd get to know on a personal level. To me Demi isn't just a celebrity anymore. She's my best friend. Sister even. Sorry Lace." Lacey rolls her eyes. "Demi even though you might disagree I'm up here because you annoyed me until I did my homework. You stayed up with me until 2 in the morning studying for my Algebra 2 final and you are the one who pulled me away from the textbooks when you knew my brain was about to explode. So Thank you Demi." I say finishing my speech. Demi was the first person to start clapping for me. She had tears in her eyes and at this point I did too. I went back to my seat and listened to the rest of the ceremony up until my name was called. "Jordan Jones." The principal says I smiled and walked over to shake his hand as he handed me my diploma. My family of course was again cheering for me and taking pictures as I walked off stage. "Student you may now move your tassels to the right." He says as we all did. "Congratulations Class of 2017!" He yelled as we all threw our caps into the air just like in the movies. I caught mine then went to go find my family. "Great job up there kiddo." I heard a familiar voice say. "Dad?" I say turning around. And there he was standing there in front of me. I felt the tears and they weren't stopping and so I practically jumped into his arms. "Oh Jordan! I can't believe it!" He says "I know me neither." I say as we pull apart he hands me a present. I look at him confused as I open the box to reveal keys. "You always said how much you wanted a motorcycle." He says "No Fucking way! Thank you dad!" I say "I'll let that F-bomb slide this one time" he says as I laugh hugging him again. The others soon join us and embrace me in hugs. "Babe you graduated! You look so cute in your gown." Alex says "Baby are you kidding?! You look hot in that dress!" I say kissing her as she snaked her arms around my waist. I heard my dad clear his throat as we pulled apart. "Dad you know Alex. But I don't believe you've met Alex my girlfriend." I say "I don't believe I have." He says "It's nice to meet Mr.Jones" Alex says "Likewise Alex I must warn you though if you break my daughter's heart I have a shotgun in the trunk of my car." He says "Dad!!! You're scaring her!" I say as he chuckles. "I'm only joking. Relax Welcome to the family. Now if you excuse me I need to give your mother the 20 dollars that I owe her." He says as I laughed "They bet on who you would end up with didn't they?" Alex says I nodded "His bet was on Cassie." I say as we both shuddered. I heard a squeal and chuckled. "Speaking of the devil." I say as she again tackled me to the ground. "Congrats babe! You made it out of hell!" Cassie says as she keeps me in her bone crushing grip. "Babe! You're gonna break the kid." Nate says as he helps get out from under her. "Wait are you two a thing and you didn't tell me!!" I say since I've been shipping them since their Senior Year where they did Romeo and Juliet. Nate was Romeo and Cassie was Juliet and I pretty much started shipping them when they kissed. "Sorry Jordan we wanted to surprise you. Surprise!" Cassie says as she kisses Nate. "Alright cute but please keep it PG!" I say as they laughed. I spotted Lacey,Mason and Demi headed this way. "How could you talk about me in your speech and not tell me!" Demi says "Yeah what she said!" Lacey says as I chuckled nervously "Um Surprise?" I say as they continue to glare at me. "Okay okay just not the face!" I say as they laugh and hug me. We were soon joined by Officer James and his family. "Congratulations Jordan! Finishing High school is a very big accomplishment." Officer James says "And by that he means that he is very proud of you and so am I!" Mrs. James says engulfing me in a hug. I shook Officer James' hand and gave Cody a fist bump. "When do I get to do a speech like that?" He asks I chuckle kneeling down to his level. "Well, If you work very hard in school and somehow make it through probably the hardest but also greatest years of your life then you'll get to up there. And tell you what I'll be sitting in the same seat you were sitting in when you do." I say "Promise?" He asks holding up his pinky. I smiled and wrapped my pinky around his. "I promise kid." I say messing up his hair as he laughed and hugged me. "Alright kid what do you say we take your graduation present out for a spin!" Demi says as I smile and nodded. "Babe could you take my car back to my house. We'll be back in an hour or so." I say tossing my keys to Alex. "Okay just be careful on that thing." She says kissing my cheek. We said goodbye to everyone else and found the white motorcycle that my dad had bought me. It was my dream bike! "Alright where to kid?" Demi asks getting on since she had the license to drive it and I didn't. I got on behind her and held onto her waist. "Surprise me." I sayas she smiles and turned on the ignition. I smiled at the sound of the motorcycle starting up as we drove off of Campus I smirked and flipped the school off. "Peace out Mother fuckers!" I yelled as we passed the school. Demi laughed at my ridiculousness. I leaned my head into her back and just watched as buildings went by. I soon recognized the path we were taking and smiled once we were at the Cafe spot that Demi had taken me to when Jennifer beat the living shit out of me. She parked the motorcycle and then we both got off. "That was awesome! You gotta let me drive it back home!" I say "Over my dead body! I'm not letting you drive that until you get the license." She says as I rolled my eyes. We went in and got our usual which was Hot chocolate. We went to sit in our usual booth and I sparked up a conversation. "So when does the tour start?" I ask "Sometime next month. So that means I can help you get packed up and help you settle into your dorm room." Demi says "Cool! Maybe then you could also show me your house so I can finally meet Batman!" I say referring to her dog that she had missed so much. "Batman's gonna love you!" She says I chuckle and nodded. "All dogs love me! I'm just the dog magnet!" I say as she laughs "You know kid you just graduated and it honestly feels like a normal night. I'm just so much happier and of course I'm proud of you." She says I smile "Thanks Dems means a lot coming from you." I say she smiles "Now if we could only get you behind a microphone and signed to SafeHouse." She says as I chuckled. "Maybe someday in the near distant future. Right now I'm just glad I made it through this year. And I'm also glad I bailed you out of jail." I say she snickers and smiles at me. "Me too kid." She says she grabs my hand causing me to look up at her. As I stared into her brown eyes so many memories came flooding into my mind. The day we met, The night she told me she was framed, The first time we said 'I love you', The Court Day, Getting the tattoo. It's like the whole year flashed before my eyes. Soon I felt the tears coming. "Jordan why are you crying?" Demi asks "I'm just so grateful I met you. Thank you for everything Demi Seriously." I say as she reaches over and wipes my tears away. When we finish our drinks we head out of the cafe and Demi pulls me in for a long hug. "I love you kid." She whispers and I bury my face in her neck and inhale her scent. "I love you too Demi." I say and I knew right then in that moment that this was the way my Senior year was meant to end. And I couldn't wait to star this new chapter in my life. So I can start making new crazy memories with the people I care about the most.
