Cat's POV

I rested my back against the door and tried to calm my heart and the jitters I still had. As much as I tried to be furious at that pompous jerk, I couldn't help but feel a little breathy. I had never had talked to guys that much, especially guys who looked like Jake Ryan. I hated his guts, but I still felt a little dizzy if I looked at him for too long. It's not like I liked him, he was such a d word. And I do not converse with people of that sort. I heard a loud bang on the door behind me, and I jumped to the ceiling. "Fudge nuggets," I cursed under my breath as I opened the door a crack. I saw Jake standing there impatiently waiting for me to open the door.

"You? Again? I thought I just got rid of you." I said to him.

"Please sweetheart," he smirked peeking at me through the crack, "you know you can't get enough of this."

I fully opened the door, and stood there tapping my shoe against the floor. "Well?" I asked, sounding a little too rude.

"Well," he replied, "aren't you going to invite me in?" I debated my options, and decided that I probably should be polite.

"Would you like to come in Jake?" I said, stepping aside and motioning him in.

"I would love to Kitty Cat," he said, ducking as he came through the door way. Geez he was a giant. That, or our doorway is too small. He stood there awkwardly, clasping his hands behind his back. I blinked at him, waiting for him to say what he wanted. "So Cat," he said clearing his throat, "I came to tell you that I will be picking you up at exactly...." He looked at his wrist, pretending there was a watch there. "6 o'clock, to escort you to a party that my pal Max is throwing. Sort of a Back to School thing. Please dress inappropriately," he said grinning. I raised a brow.

"Who says I want to go to this party at Max's?" I questioned. "Remember, I don't even know you."

"You didn't let me finish buttercup. I was going to say that we will be going to dinner beforehand, so we may get acquainted. Then, you will know me better, and then come to the party." He finished, and took a bow. "6 o'clock, m'lady. Not a second later." He saucily winked, and threw open the door and strode out. Before I could close it he turned, blew a kiss, and then begun walking across the street. I couldn't help but grin from ear to ear at how doofy that guy was. I shook my head while smiling, taking out my phone to text my friend Maddy.

SOS--GOING TO DINNER AND PARTY WITH NEW NEIGHBOR, HELP NEEDED!!

To: Kit Cat

From: Madison

I KNEW THIS DAY WOULD COME! I will be there in 10 min, go shower!

I tucked my phone in my pocket, and called out to my parents. "MOM, DAD?!" I called loudly. All I heard was silence. I sighed, and sent them each a quick text telling them my plans and was relieved when they agreed without any question. They were pretty cool parents. They allowed me to go out whenever and didn't ask many questions because they trusted me. And probably because I only had a few friends. I skipped up the stairs, and jumped into the shower so I could be ready by the time Maddy came.

The minute I had on a bra and panties, the door to my room swung open and Maddy bustled in carrying suitcases. I laughed and watched her struggle to put them down.

"What is this, are you moving in?" I teased watching her wipe the drop of sweat beading on her forehead. "What is all this?" I questioned, motioning to everything.
