Huey and Riley were sitting down in the livingroom on the couch. Of course, Huey was reading a novel. I believe it was the famous Roots by Alex Haley. The younger brother with a head full of cornrows was obviously on his phone. Scrolling through his Instagram page.
"Aye Huey." Riley called, not looking from his device.
"Yeah." Huey answered, also not looking away from his activity.
"I know you ain't got no followers on Instagram huh?" He cackled, finally turning an eye to his older brother who raised an eyebrow at a curious statement he read.
"I wouldn't know. Considering I don't have one." He smartly remarked. Still reading .
"Mhm. I would expect that gay shit from you Huey. Shame." Riley snorted still scrolling through his phone. Huey simply ignored. Since that's all he could say anyway.
Riley rose an eyebrow at the sight of a picture on his social media.
"What?!" He hollered jumping up. Huey unfrazzled continued his reading. "This nigga Rosco got a muthafuckin Bentley?!" He screeched still holding his phone to his eyes.
"Huey!" Riley called.
"What?"
"This nigga got a Bentley! An he mah age!"
"Sixteen is about the time teenagers begin driving Riley. It isn't uncommon." Huey replied. Still not giving his brother the time of day. Riley scoffed. "Then why ain't Granddad take me yet?!"
"Because you are not a good driver."
"The fuck? How you know? You ain't even seen me drive."
"According to your stats on your racing game you average poorly-"
"Shut the fuck up nigga! Imma ask him right now!"
Huey shrugged as his younger brother ignorantly heeds up the staircase. Huey silently reads still until he hears yelling.
"Hell no boy, if you don't get cho raggedy no job havin ass out mah damn room with all that nonsense." Granddad huffed.
"But Granddad-"
"No but me boy! Don't cha Eva ask me that shit again. I ain't trynna die. I have not lived this long just to get killed by some angry white man because yo ass decide to go to damn slow on the freeway. Nuh uh. Bye!"
A sigh was heard and sorrow steps.
Huey still unfazed continues reading his book.
Riley stands in front of him.
"Take me drivin!"
"No."
"Why?"
"Because."
"Why?"
"Because."
"Because you gay Huey that's why! Shit. I ain't wanna drive wit cho fruity loops havin ass anyways. Fraid Imma get that shit rubbed off on me." He mumbled as he marched away.
Ring!
School had just ended and Riley had just ended class. As he walked, spinning his baseball in his hand he saw a familiar face walk toward him.
"Aye! Whattup nigga!" Riley grinned. Giving the Asian boy a handshake. Hiro pulled away and snapped at the end. "Hey Riley. Where's your brother? He is supposed to be giving me a ride home today." Riley shrugged.
"Probably fucking Jazmine in the Janitor closet again." Riley cackled. Hiro out his hand to his mouth as he tried to contain his laughter.
Suddenly, an idea popped in his head.
