She cupped his face and rubbed her thumb against his cheek. Her eyes gleamed when she looked into his. "You don't know how much I have been longing to tell you my greatest secret."
Daku pulled her in close. His lips rested on her forehead. Their breaths synchronized. He could feel the burden from her secret lift from her shoulders. He placed his hand on the back of her head. "Why couldn't you tell me?"
Tears trickled from her eyes onto his chin. "My Father and Impa had to be sure of what you are. It was for the safety of Hyrule. If it wasn't for that I would have gone against their commands. I have always trusted you. I hope this hasn't hurt us in any way"
He held her tighter. "Look at me" She looked up at him. Her eyes were glazed over. The tears were thick and laced with fear. "Nothing will ever come between. Especially your duty to protect your people." Her tears were erased by the touch of his fingers. Their heartbeats sang and pulled them together. The melody weaved through their lips and sowed them together. The taste of their kiss wasn't a match for any sugar and cinnamon or milk and honey. Daku pushed her into the bedroom wall to deepen their kiss. The final note of the symphony struck when he pulled out her bottom lip with a small nibble. "So do I call you Zelda or Sheik?"
"Call me by my real name. Zelda" she sighed "I wish we had more alone time together. But there is a council meeting. It is finally time to bring you up to speed on everything. " She locked her hands in his and led the way.
The council was held in the dungeons of Hyrule castle. A Guard was stationed every few meters. The meeting room was Hyrule castle's heart. The door was enchanted with Sheikan markings. Zelda waved her hand over it. The marking chimed then evaporated. Inside the room, the most important Hylains were debating. King Harkinian was at the front of the room patiently waiting for the meeting to begin. In the corner of the room skimming through textbooks was Auru, Zelda's Tutor and the King most trusted advisor. The had been wearing the same green cloak he had worn the first time Daku saw him at the festival years ago. Auru had been mumbling Impa ears off. A Zora and a Goron sat side by side on the council round table. They were chatting and laughing away like old friends. "Now that our newest council member is here let us begin" demanded the King. Everyone but Daku picked a different chair with a special symbol on the crest rail. The Daku realized that each council member had a coordinating pin. In front of the only empty chair was a pin. The pin was orange with a separated Ying yang piece in the middle. "This is your new role; The Spirit Sage" explained the King.
"Sage?" Daku questioned
The King pointed to his seat. "Please sit down. You have a lot of Complex history to learn. Auru, you can take it from here."
Auru stood up from his chair. He cleared his throat "What did you believe growing up about the creation of Hyrule, Daku is it?"
"It is. I grew up learning there are three goddesses who created everything." Daku Slouched in his chair. "Hyrule has a whole festival celebrating the three goddesses. It is not just what I grew up with it. It's what Hyrule grew up with."
"That is true. Hyrule grew up learning and believing three goddesses created everything. But it is not the truth. All this power we have told you that belong to the three goddesses is the power of one goddess. Her name is Hylia. Hylia created all. Her goal is to protect us from the ancient evil that has been here since the dawn of time. This ancient evil has taken many forms over the centuries. Hylia is clever. She has passed down her wisdom by blood. The royal family has power in their veins. That is why every Queen and princess must be named Zelda. Zelda means dark battle, and in our oldest language, it means blessed. Zelda is blessed by the goddess." Auru said.
Daku shot Zelda a look. He cocked his eyebrow. She replied with a mischievous smirk. "So why are we here? What is with all the secrecy and the pins?" Daku questioned.
"Hylia has embedded many different forms of protection against Ganon. One of those defenses is the seven sages. There had only found six of us until now. You are the Spirit Sage, I am the Forest Sage, and the King is the Sage of Light, If you look to your right you will see Zale, our Zora ambassador, and advisor. He is the Sage of Water. Next to Zale is Agni our Goron ambassador and advisor. He is the Sage of Fire. Impa is the Shadow Sage, and our Princess is the Leader of the Sages. Our purpose as Sages is to aid Hylia by aiding the Hero of Time. Not just for our Hyrule but for all of the Hyrules"
"You lost me at the multiple Hyrule part, Auru"Daku scratched his head. There is only one Hyrule.
Auru pulled a die from his sleeve. "You see this die. Imagine our world is just one side of this. On the other side our other worlds. In those other worlds are other Hyrules. All of them are under Hylia's blessing. If one side of the die were to crack the other side are left alone but the die itself would be broken. "
"Is our Hyrule the one that is broken?"
"No. We are on track to keep Hyrule safe for now. Long ago we have discovered in another Hyrule. They have surrendered their Triforce. They have been living in eternal darkness. Hylia has finally given us the opportunity to redeem the lost Hyrule."
"What is your plan, Auru?"
"You are the Plan"
