....Weeks later
"Mornin' Ashei and Daku! Get your heads off them pillows. Today we're movin' to our new home." Oto shouted. Daku slept on a pile of straw in a corner of the room. He raised his upper half up and stretched as Ashei skipped out the door following Oto.
Daku covered his eyes with his hands in confusion. He kept have dreams about Sheik; she was so strange. Every night since he met her, he had the same dream over and over. She would arise from the dark with a golden harp and play a lullaby. Daku was already sick of that song, even though it puts his mind at ease.
Daku couldn't figure why Sheik trusted him with the shield either. But he still hid it in a descent spot. He hid it under the foundation of his new home, the home he was moving into today.
Oto popped his head into the room. "Daku, my boy, Renado wants to have you for the day, then there's some letter for you in the Inn laddie." He pulled his head out and closed then door.
Daku finished getting ready. He grabbed a wooden bowl of a table and scooped up some pumpkin soup Ashei made for breakfast. It was the perfect soup. The recipe was found in a discovery on one of Oto's expedition.
The soup's aroma was sweet like a dessert. Daku mouth would grin ear to ear with every spoonful of the creamy orange soup. It was the perfect blend of pumpkin and cinnamon. Daku finished his bowl quick, but he couldn't stop starring at the few drops of soup hanging on the sides of the bowl.
His mind and taste buds craved for those last drops of soup.
"DAKU!" shouted Ashei. Daku couldn't resist. He shoved the bowl in his face and licked every surface of the bowl. Ashei burst in the room "Daku?!" Her yelling stunned Daku making him drop the bowl. Orange goo was scattered in droplets on Daku's face. Ashei sighed with anger as she snatched a rag and walked to her brother. She violently wiped his face. "You are such a pig when it comes to you eating! You know that?"
Daku pushed her off of him. "I am fine now, it's off! And yes, I know." Ashei quickly slapped his cheek. "Ouch! What in Hyrule was that for?!"
Ashei ignored him and surfed her thumb over her finger pad's. She could hear the stickiness of the residue. "Your face is still sticky."
Daku crossed his arms then shouted. "Well I don't care, I need to get a move on. Renado is waiting." As Daku tried to storm out of the room, Ashei tossed a bucket of water at him. Dark Link stopped right in front of the doorway. "Ashei, why did you do that?" He rumbled
"Daku, you were gonna get wet anyway. Just go. Renado is standing in the Eldin Spring."
Daku left without saying a word, his face stained with anger. At the corner of his eye he saw Oto working on the new house. "Why yer all wet there my boy?" Daku gave back a death stare. Oto's face went white. Daku looked like he was going to murder everyone in the village. Oto froze then went back to his old classic chuckle. "I didin' know my lad had monthly lassie fits." Daku ignored Oto's joke.
Renado was standing in the middle of the spring with a smile gleaming to Daku. Daku walked into the spring. The warm water filled his boots; it was getting heavier to walk. But the water was soothing. Daku felt like falling over into the water to relax, float and fall asleep.
Renado, in the same long robe, put his hands together making it look like one long sleeve. He started to mumble strange words again.
...Hikari no kaidan ni, korera no mizu o mawasu...
Just those words over and over. Daku looked around, everything outside the water was rippling. He could see Oto, but Oto didn't seem notice any change. The rippling stopped, everything seemed normal. Renado moved to the side, putting his hand out to the small waterfall at the beginning of the spring. The waterfall started to form stairs. Daku looked at Renado with a straight face and curiosity hidden in his eyes. Renado tilted his head to the water stair case. As Daku made is way to the stairs, the water kept getting deeper. As Daku lifted a foot, the water was holding on with its weight, wanting Daku to stay in one place so the water could cuddle against his skin. The water stuck in his boots swirled around with Daku's motions. He made it to the first step. Daku was a little skeptical but he squatted down and put his hand through the water stairs. It went through. He looked at Renado with a odd look. But Renado still swayed his head towards the stairs. Daku nodded back. He lifted his foot and placed it on the stair. His foot did not go through. It felt like his shoe was on thin glass. It looked like it was melted glass due to the waters ripples frozen in place. Daku climbed the five stair staircase. There was another spring, bigger and deeper than the last. This spring was surrounded by tall, red mountain rock. Daku walked over the new spring. When he turned back, Renado was standing there at the entrance.
