Summer Vacation
Imagine for Nayja♡

Summer in California was like any other state; hot all day and maybe a few degrees cooler at night. But other than that, you wouldn't see many people bundled up in sweaters like some parts of the country.
Today, a few of my friends and family are driving down to the lake where we rented a cabin to stay for three weeks. The lake was a very calm and serene place, which explains why we are staying for so long.
We had already reached the cabin a few minutes ago, and now we were waiting for the rest of our company to arrive. When I saw a red truck pull into the lot, I suddenly grew excited. I mean, more excited than I already was, if that was possible.
Seconds later, a boy stepped out of the truck, along with another boy who were both around my age and height. "Austin!" I squealed and ran towards him, not even bothering to be cautious of the rocks on the ground. Austin's head whipped around as he heard me yell his name and a big smile spread across his face.
I was only a few feet away when my foot slipped on a rock underneath me, causing me to plummet forward onto the hard gravel. I felt a very slight pain on my right kneecap, most likely a scrape.
"Oh my god, Nayja are you okay?" Austin shuffled over and helped me up.
"My knee hurts." I cringed at the pain from standing up.
"You got to be more careful next time." He chuckled before scooping me up bridal style, and carrying me back to the cabin. I noticed my knee had begun to bleed a little so I started panicking, on the inside. I couldn't show it because I would just look like I was overreacting. And trust me, it's happened multiple times.
When we made our way, or Austin's way, back to the cabin, he brought me to the bathroom and set me carefully on my two feet. Bad idea.
"Ow, ow, it hurts." I raised my knee so I was almost hopping on one leg. Austin seemed to have noticed my struggle so he quickly placed his hands on my waist, hoisting me up onto the countertop.
I took a look at my knee again and realized the pain was coming from a small rock lodged in the top layer of my skin. Ew.
"Is there like an emergency kit or something?" I looked around as Austin searched through the cabinets. Seconds later, he pulled out a small bag and unzipped it, setting it on the counter next to me.
After covering my knee with three Sesame Street band aids, I attempted to walk on my own. Bad idea, again.
I yelped in pain and immediately, Austin scooped me up and carried me to the back door, out to the patio, and set me down on the boardwalk. My legs dangled off the side of the wooden boards as I watched the shimmering lake in front of me. Austin was quietly humming a tune while he played with the fingers on my left hand, making sure to wiggle each one before moving on to the next.
"Do you think ducks go to school?" Austin said randomly, eyeing a group of ducks swimming on the water.
"Maybe." I shrugged, an image of a duck with books and a backpack popping into my head.
I heard my parents talking with Austin's and most likely the others. Dang, they're loud. I've always wondered what the neighbors thought of our boisterous noise. Maybe they don't care, or maybe they think we're annoying.
"Well, this sucks." I sighed, placing a hand on my injured knee.
"It's not that bad, babe. I'm here for you. At least you didn't dislocate it or anything." Austin tried to cheer me up. Eh.

Now it was about 6 o' clock in the evening. I barely did anything the whole day, considering I couldn't. Or, that I really didn't want to. Austin had practically carried me everywhere around the house to satisfy my needs, which was nice, but not necessary.
"You're paddling the wrong way." I giggled as Austin continued to run his paddle through the water. We were canoeing in the lake, along with the rest of our family, but they were pretty far away so they probably couldn't hear us at all. My knee had gotten better, I could actually walk around now and do some activity.
"I am not, maybe you're paddling the wrong way." Austin said jokingly, scooping his hand in the lake and splashing me with water. I gave him a glare, and he knew right then that I was going to getting him back. I smirked as I used my paddle to push a huge wave of water towards him, soaking almost his whole shirt.
"Are we even now?" Austin said, trying to wrong the water out of his shirt. He ended up taking his shirt off, since it had begun clinging to his body. I stared at his bare upper half, almost drooling over it, for a solid two minutes, before I realized I might've been creeping him out.
"Yeah, we're definitely even." I nodded, looking away as I blushed. I heard him laugh as the canoe shifted slightly, Austin slowly crawling towards me. We were sitting face to face now.
"Enjoying the view?" Austin smirked, pulling me towards him as he planted his lips firmly on mine. I kissed back immediately with more need than I was intending.
I pulled back swiftly, grinning as I bit my lip. "Yeah."

I know this one is probably the worst one I've written and I'm so sorry! I have no time to do anything, it sucks...
Well, hope you enjoyed it a bit!
