R.E.A.L.M.S. -A Broken Mind-

Prologue

In the snowy mountain tops of the country of Serios, laid a small town at the western base of the mountains. Just under the cool breeze of the spring night that grazed the town. As the time neared midnight on the night of April 18, 1876, the town vanished of all signs of life. The life that surrounded the town, trees, animals, insects, even the grass in the area of the town died. 

However, not all signs of life had been evaporated, six teenagers from the ages of sixteen through eighteen were found gravely wounded. Authorities from the government of Serios took care of the health of the teenagers and brought them back to full health; moreover, questioned the survivors of the event called the, "Coorbridge Outage". As if the entire area died like a huge current of electricity was taken off it's source, but with no answer of why the source was removed.

With the teenagers in questioned, they all told the same tale, tears in reality allows them to enter other dimensions that are controlled by monsters, vicious beats that sickened the group. They titled the tears of reality as "rifts" or a "portal" to another world. All was pushed off as a "fairy tale" for three following years until more towns started to pop off the radar, it wasn't just towns. Soon enough, a major city in the southern isles of Caninoslovish was wiped off the planet, fear struck the world wide governments as mass hysteria of towns and cities were being wiped away. In the end, the "outages" were chalked up as mere natural disasters to the public, however to the realism set, every location had survivors gravely injured around the ages of sixteen and eighteen.

 In the year 1885, a group dedicated to prevent the disasters from happening again were in the hands of a natural born gift that sparks in the years of sixteen through eighteen years of age, a kinetic energy that overwhelms the adolescent bodies and are able to perceive the tears in reality and step through to "other worlds".

However, it's a greatly dangerous task in which, if a person dies in the "rift" of reality, the influence of the kinetic energies inside their already overwhelmed bodies will lash out to a more grander range of the "outage" will become. 

That's why the Regional Efficiency of Altering the Lasting Massacre of Society, or otherwise known as R.E.A.L.M.S. has been creating weaponty and equipment for what they dub as "Rifters". So they can live sage and successful lives, despite for the duty they must uphold as protectors of society.
