The Swimming Race

I stood by the pool with a towel in my hand, scanning the room for Percy. He had gone to get changed for the gala which was starting in precisely 32 minutes. Behind me sat the rest of the group, minus Leo who had gone to visit Agnes at the hospital. She was doing better, and her bones were going to heal, but Leo was worried as heck all the same.

Clarisse sat a little away from the others, frowning as she read a black bound book with a chess piece on it.
"Hey!" Piper came running up to me in her dark red swimming suit, her hair tied back in a French plait and her goggles on her head.

"Good luck, Piper." I said smiling. She would be taking part in the female group so it was easy for me not to take sides between her and my boyfriend.

Piper jogged up into the stands and hugged Jason, who kissed her. Nico slid away from them slowly and I nearly snorted out loud.

"Hi, wise girl."

I spun around to face my topless boyfriend and I nearly fell over. I'm not going to deny how defined his abs were, or how his hair was messy and ruffled from pulling his top over his hair which made him look like someone from bay watch. Percy smirked, maybe feeling a bit full of himself. "Are you checking me out?"

"Oh, shut it, seaweed brain." I said and pushed my lips to his, wrapping my arms around his back where I could feel his muscles tense.

"I'll be cheering for you the whole time." I whispered before joining the others in the stands.

I sat down beside Jason, and behind us I could hear a few giggling girls.

"Did you see him?!"

"Sooooo fit!"

"And those green eyes of his..."

Jason patted my hand awkwardly, as if to say 'ignore them, he's yours' and I thanked him with a smile.

Piper and Percy stood by the pool chatting, and I noticed Jason staring at her.

"She looks good doesn't she."
Jason blushed and looked at me awkwardly.

"I'm surprised you haven't been ambushed my Aphrodite yet. You guys are a cute couple." I laughed, remembering her fixation on Percy and I.

"It's starting!" Nico said.

Percy stands in line with a bunch of other male students. Hopefully I could tell when he's using his demigod powers.
A man stands beside them with his hand raised.

"Three, two, one!" his whistles blows and they dive into the pool with a loud splash. It took a minutes or two before I spotted Percy, to no surprise, ahead of everyone.

But he didn't seem to be speeding ahead, more gradually moving forward and not even ahead by a large amount.

I glanced over at Piper's race. She was coming in second, close behind a girl speeding ahead.

My eyes glanced back to Percy who was now gaining a fair advantage.

"GO PERCY!" someone behind me screeched.

I whirled around to face Bridgette Fletcher, her recently re-bleached hair making her look like a barbie. Next to her sat Ruby Benton and Mya Gillian, her two sidekicks I was too well acquainted with. They were holding up a large paper banner which read 'Percy Jackson is the best!!!!!!' With way to many exclamation and appalling spelling. When Bridgette saw me staring she glared at me and I turned away angrily.

"YOU CAN DO IT PERCY!" She screeched again and before I could turn around and do something Jason put his hand on my shoulder.

"the race is nearly over," he said. "Look."

Just at that moment Percy finished his fourth lap of the pool and touched the wall. A bell sounded to mark the finish and he climbed out, looking slightly tired.

I ran down to him and hugged him tight, even though he was soaking.
"Well down, seaweed brain." I said and kissed him lightly.

His face was a little red but he was smiling a wide Cheshire Cat smile none the less.

Another bell sounded and the girls race was over. A girl with long brown hair and light skin climbed up victoriously and a crowd rushed to great her. Coming in third came Piper. Jason ran over to her and pulled her out of the pool. They started talking but I couldn't hear what they were saying. His hands were cupped under her face and they were both smiling like sick love birds.

"PERCY! PERCY! BABE!" someone pulled me off of Percy and flung me to the side where I crashed into Nico who had come down to congratulate Percy. Nico went flying backwards towards the pool.

"Nico!" I yelled running to grab him, but it was too late. With a splash the son of Hades fell into the swimming pool.

Some people gasped while others laughed. The person who had bumped into me was to no surprise Bridgette, who was far too close to Percy for my liking. He looked like someone had hit him on the head with a fry pan as he stated between a soaking wet Nico bobbing around frantically in the water and a kissy-kissy Bridgette Fletcher too close for comfort.

Before I knew it Piper had rushed over and was dragging Nico out like a wet cat.

His long black hair covered his eyes and his clothes stuck to him like a second skin. He looked mortified. Jason joined Piper and they wrung out his jacket.

They wrapped a towel around him and rushed him off frantically. I felt really sorry for poor Nico Di Angelo.

Then I saw Bridgette.

One hand was places on Percy's bare chest, and he was nervously trying to push it away.

"Fletcher," I growled and stormed over. She heard me coming. I could tell she did.

Then she did the unthinkable.

She kissed him.

I've got a few notices to say.

Also, many of you know that in house of hades it is revealed Nico is gay.
Now I am not going to change the story line. it is not because I'm homophobic because I have NO problem with gay people and think they should have equal rights. i am gay myself? (pansexual)
It just messes with my story line that's all. AND HE COULD BE BISEXUAL!! it's never clarified and i never clarified so stop commenting about it.

Also, I was wondering if you guys wanted Percabeth to get a little more serious in the next chapter/one to come?
I don't mean sex because I'd like to go to heaven please, but maybe just a bit more sexual? I understand if this isn't what you wanna read but this is a Percabeth book and I wanted to know your opinions? ^.^

ALSO PLEASE DON'T JUST COMMENT 'we I hate Bridgette' or stuff like that because it doesn't help me.
