Johns pov.

She seemed shocked by my answer but didn't say anything. we looked into each others eyes for what felt like forever and I didn't want it to end.

"Uuuummm......you said something about real blood......may I have some??? I know I'm not worthy of it but, I'm.......never mind....forget I asked." she was about to walked away.

"Here come on. let's get you something real to eat." I took her hand and led her to my secret stash.

"So are you gonna tell me what you were going to say?" I asked her.

"Uuuummm...........do you really want to know or are you just asking to be nice?"

"I care that's why I asked.......so may I have an answer?" she nodded.

"As you can probably guess Merna is not the best master.......she thinks......well I'm not sure.......but she has me starve myself..........so I love off the rats........but it's not enough.....so I'm.......dying...its so just not painful....but it's just too slow....."

I was shocked.....why would Merna do that. I'm gonna get my answers later now I need to feed ell.

I made sure ell had enough that could keep her death on hold. after 30 cups she was full and she like she felt better.

"Thank you...thank you....thank you.. I don't know how to thank you....."

"Shhhh it's ok there's no need to thank me.....why don't you go rest...I'll let Merna know your gonna do some stuff for me." she looked shocked.

"Are you serious....you made me so happy." she threw her arms around my neck and kissed my cheek. she pulled away shocked then dropped to her knees.

"I-I-I am so s-s-sorry your majesty. please I didn't mean to do that....please don't hurt me." she begged. my poor angel.

"You are fine ell." I said to her.

"I only wish you would properly kiss me." I whispered not enough for her to hear. she got up slowly and left the room.

Ells pov.

What did he mean by 'kiss him properly'. did he want me to kiss him? I went to the room I was staying in.....and went to a peaceful sleep.

Johns pov.

I stormed into Merna's room. I needed answers as to why she hates ell so much. without knocking I barged into her room.

Merna I need to speak to you now!"

Merna looked shocked to see me, then smiled sweetly.

"What is it your majesty?"

"I want to know why you treat Ell like you do. I know how you starve, abuse, and make her hate herself. she didn't tell me any of this...its pretty easy to pick it up. so spill it why do you?" she seemed even more shocked and went paler if that was even possible.

"Your majesty you might want to take a seat."

I did I need to know the reason.

"Ok many years ago I had a husband and a wonderful life....i was never like this......i met Ells father one night under a bridge. he was amazing and....i don't I thought I fell in love. his wife was long dead......we met up more after that night.......eventually we had an affair. I grew pregnant.....i knew the baby wouldn't live....so I never told him. sadly he found out.....the I discovered he was a vampire hunter.....he was using me to get secrets of our weakness. he killed my husband. he was about to kill me till he found out I was pregnant. he said he would spare me. but I was so angry.... I was used.......my husband the love of my life.....was gone. so in return I was going to kill ell. he took what I loved from me so I would do the same. he begged me to spare her and kill him. so I did but still feeling hurt I made her my slave. to feel the pain her father should have. so that's why....as long as his blood runs in her veins she will feel pain."

I couldn't believe this. that's not how she should treat ell but her father wasn't any better. still Merna should not have been foolish enough to have an affair with a human.

" I see but why punish her if it was her father and she had nothing to do with it. she's dying right now. a slow death....don't you think she deserves to be cared for?"

She scoffed. "why should I care. besides that's the plan. she will die a slow death and then I will have the deal over."

"So that's why you weaken her. "

"Yes. that's all she will ever be is weak."

I had to leave. if I stayed longer I might rip her throat out. I am still going with my plan to take her away and make her mine. next week on the full moon we will be wedded. I promise that.
