Chapter 22

Tonight is the ball. the night I was supposed to go and be the happiest girl in the world....except I'm here in my room alone. I helped the girls get ready..they've been gone for an hour now. I wish I would be getting ready, I guess John will find a new dance partner.

"Now what's a beautiful young lady like you doing? You should be at the ball." I looked up to see the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She was tall with long blond hair, that had sparkles and flowers braided in. it looked magical. her eyes were a sparkly blue. her dress fitted her perfectly showing off her hour glass figure. she had a smile that was warm and friendly, but also motherly? It was hard to tell.

"W-who are you?" I was still amazed by her beauty.

"My sweet child, I'm your fairy god mother. I'm here to help you get ready for the ball." I was smiling now.

"But I don't have a dress." my smile let, I wouldn't be able to make a dress in time. she came over and lifted my chin.

"Sweetie leave it all to me. all you have to do is close your eyes and stand still." she brought me to the middle of the room. I closed my eyes and stood still.

"Now slowly spin around. keep your eyes closed." I spun around three times feeling the heaviness of a gown. I felt my hair being pulled up, and a chill on my feet. "open your eyes my dear." I opened my eyes and gasped.

I couldn't believe what I was wearing. it was a light blue dress with gold lace. It was sleeveless and showed my shoulders. it sparkled in the moonlight. my hair was up and curled, with a tiara for a princess. my mask was gold with sparkles to put some sparkle in my eyes. when I lifted my dress I saw glass slippers on my delicate little feet.

I ran up and hugged my fairy god mother. "thank you thank you. it's better than I could ever dream of. thank you so much." she hugged my tighter.

"Oh my sweet child, I wish I could have done more."

"What do you mean.?"

"In time you will know.....but now it's getting late, the ball won't wait. Now hurry." she kissed my cheek, and led me to the door. when I turned around to thank her again she was gone. strange. I made my way to the ball room....tonight I believe will change for the best.

John's pov.

This ball is pretty boring. mother has had me dancing with every girl. so far I have danced with both Christine and Angelic. I haven't seen Ell yet, I'm getting a little worried.

I glanced at the stairwell and saw the most beautiful woman ever, and it was Ell. Wow. she had everyone's eyes on her. Fairy god mother sure does know how to make her look like the princess she is. I excused myself from the girl I was dancing with and made my way to her.

Ell's pov.

I was at the top of the staircase and everyone's eyes were on me. I'm so embarrassed. I slowly made my way down, surprisingly I was actually graceful. how am I going to find John, everyone is wearing a mask. wait he said he would be able to find me, guess we will see. when I was at the bottom men surrounded me, I felt like a lamb being cornered by lions.

"Stand aside gentleman she's mine." the men that surrounded me cleared a path. a tall man with a white mask came towards me. he took my hand and kissed it. my knees went weak, good thing he was holding my hand otherwise I would have fallen. the man led me to the dance floor.

"I told you I would be able to find you my sweet Ell."

"John?"

"Yes my sweet, It's me. you look so beautiful tonight."

"Thank you. you look handsome yourself ." wait where did the boldness come from? he smiled down at me, I couldn't help but smile back. we danced and danced, every time a man came to ask me to dance with him John would say 'no she is my partner, the only one I need.' When I tried to pull away when another girl came after the other he would hold me tighter and say 'this is my partner. I'm not letting her go'. he is the sweetest man I have ever met.

After dancing for who knows how long John brought me outside to the gardens, to our spot. I was smiling, I couldn't seem to stop. "this has truly been the best night of my life. thank you. you have truly made me the happiest girl in the world."

"I'm glad I can make you happy Ell. I hope you can remember this for the rest of your eternal life." I laughed.

"How could I ever forget something as magical and amazing as this." he took my hands and raised them to kissed lips. kissing both of them soft and gently. he would kiss one then the other, then both. then he softly kissed my forehead, my right cheek, then the other, and he kissed my chin. I sighed he's making me feel incredible.

"Please remember me Ell." he whispered.

He leaned in slowly.........he kissed my lips. As the clock stroke twelve...........

Dun Dun Dun.......

What's going to happen next? will Ell remember her true love and live happily ever after......or will she forget everything about John and be forced to stay with Merna till she dies? he he he cliffhanger don't you just love them. I sure do. Guess we will find out soon what happens. the stories not over yet. don't worry. I'll update when I feel like it so please no killing me. aaww isn't John romantic.
