Chapter 20

Ell's pov.



"Will you go to the ball with me?" His words kept going in my head, until I realize they were real. "I uh.......I dont know what to say....I--"

"Say yes....thats all i ask Ell......please would you go to the ball with me?" his eyes were begging me to, how could i say no? Wait! Why am I even considering to say yes. What would Merna do if I did go? She would actually kill me if I did. I dont even have anything to wear....I cant go in my rags. Wait its also a masked ball. Yes..I could wear a mask and maybe make a dress suitable for this.

"Yes John.....I will be happy to go with you......" His smile is so breathtaking and perfect. He rushes over lifts me in the air and spins me around. I try not to squeal so loud, but I cant contain my laughing.

He chants, "Thank you Thank you Ell! Youve made me so happy!" How did I make him happy if all I said was yes, its not Im the love of his life. Im just a servant, Im not important.

"Wait how will you find me if we all will be wearing mask?"

"I will find you. I will also be your only dance partner. No one else will be with a gem like you." I smile at his sweet words. He makes me feel special in a way that no one has before. HE makes me feel......loved. As we walk through the gardens we dont say anymore words just emjoying the moment, hand in hand like Ive been dreaming about. We sneak into the castle as he walks me to my room, knowing what will become of me if we were to be caught. As im about to walk in he takes my hand and brings it to his lips.

"Thank you for saying yes. I promise to make it a night to remember." He leans in and soflty kisses my cheek. I dont understands what he beens by remember.....the way he said was like he was desperate for something. He walks away leaving me in my thoughts.



Johns pov.

She said Yes!!!! I will have my Ell back by the end of the night. When I do Im never letting her go ever again. How i desperatly wanted to kiss her, and to sleep with her in my arms tonight.......I should be careful starting to sound like a woman. As Im getting ready for sunrise so I may go to bed I notice two notes on my pillow. Strange?

The first one......

Dear Son,

I need you to be careful with the plan you have to take Ell. Your mother will not stop to make sure that you marry one of the Vamps. I couldnt tell you this in person in fear of spys being around. they are around, you need to keep a sharp eye on Ell as well. Your mother will not be pleased to know you figured out what she did. I kill the spy that were spying on you and Ell moments ago......do not let any more happen until the ball is over and she is safe in your arms. I will not have my future daughter-in-law dead. she is a real gem that you need to look after and protect. Remember to be careful.

Note 2....

Dear John,

I will be helping Ell get ready for the ball....but she mustn't know who I am. it could put her in even more danger than she already is. Please allow me this one chance to spend time with my daughter. that's all I want. I will tell you more when the time is right. please do not tell Ell anything of my existence when her memory is brought back. it will only hurt her more.

(Still John's pov.)

I didn't know what to think. my own mother sent spy's on me just to make sure I wouldn't be with Ell. well we will see about that, she will be the new queen of the kingdom as soon as were married.




A.N.

It came to my senses that I may have left a little bit of a big cliff hanger last time so this was a smaller one. :) I know how everyone is a big fan of my cliff hangers. so swimming is over now now I have half way more time but I still have a life and can't always be on wattpad so please understand that if I don't update for a while I have either writers block or I don't have time. love you all!!!!!!!!
