Chapter 24

I was shocked. did he really just ask that question, or am I dreaming? yeah that's it I'm dreaming, I'm gonna wake up tomorrow and be in my rags and a horrible home. but it seems so real.

"Am I dreaming?" he chuckled.

"No my love, also was not expecting that answer. however if you were dreaming what would your answer be?"

"Well it would be a dream come true, so my answer would have to be yes!" He smiled.

"And since this is not a dream, what would your answer be?"

"*sigh* well I guess since I don't really think this is a dream. my answer would be.............YES!!!!!!!" I screamed.

He slid the ring on my finger, then spin me around. he kissed me again.

"Ell we don't have much time. my mother and Merna will figure out soon that I have found you. if we want to run away we need to do it now." I looked at him, this is really happening. I'm truly going to be free this time. I nodded.

"Excellent! Let's go. I have a carriage waiting for us."

He took my hand and we ran. My memory is all coming back to me. everything, from hearing that voice, to how I've been acting. I can't believe all that has happened to me, and yet John actually suffered as much as I did. looking back in the memories I could see the pain in his eyes every time I spoke to him. we're running as fast as we can. My slippers make it slightly harder to run, but shortly I feel them slip of. looking back at them, I see one is broken while the other stands perfectly. like it was set there carefully.

The two showed how I'm leaving my broken life, and heading towards my new perfect one. I could feel the smile on my face, my happiness is to come.

As we stepped in the carriage John wouldn't let go of me.

"John you can let go of my now." I laughed, but he looked so serious.

"I meant what I said I'm never loosing you again." he was so serious, I couldn't find any hint of playfulness in his eyes. that look made me quiet, and never see him that serious again.

The carriage ride lasted about two days. the only time we ever stopped was to feed. Finally we arrived in a front of a beautiful castle.

"Welcome to your new home my love." I smiled. the carriage dropped is off at the step. just as I was about to step forward, John picks me up bridal style and carries me to the door.

"I can walk you know." he smirked at me.

"I know. is it too much for wanting to carry my future wife into our new home?" he gave me puppy dog eyes. I huffed.

"No. but let's not make a habit of it every time we go threw a door." he had a mischievous glint in his eye.

"Oh no promises there." He gave me a quick peck on the lips then set me down. it was then that I realized we were inside.

"The only ones out here are you, me, and the servants that are loyal to me and you, and only us. they will not give away our location. in time we will invite those who support us." I looked at him questionable.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, that only my father and siblings will be allowed here. maybe a few friends. we do of course need guest for our wedding. my mother is no longer my mother therefore will not be apart of anything." I was shocked, I mean sure she did try to break us up but she meant well.

" John are you sure? she is your mother after all." he looked me straight in the eye.

"Ell she has done many things that I could never forgive her for, but what she did to us is unforgivable. it will take longer time for her to get back in this family. but I don't think I could ever allow that."

He looked so torn. I know this was hard on him feeling the betrayal of his mother. "ok." was all I could say. I leaned up and gave him a small kiss on the lips. he seemed to have relaxed after that.

"Come on. show me around the castle. I want to get to know my way around so I won't get lost." he smiled at me, then led the way. After the tour of the castle (it's pretty simple nothing too big) we decided to cuddle by the fire. John seemed anxious and nervous to tell me something. but what could it be?

"John is something bothering you?" finally noticing that he was caught he answered.

"Ell how well do you remember why your dad was killed and you were turned?" I was surprised by his question. we never really discussed it.

"All I remember is my father made a deal with Merna that he couldn't keep, they were going to kill me as payment. but he pleaded to them to kill him and spare me. and here I am. why? is there something I should know?" he sighed.

"Ell there is more to the story. your father was a vampire hunter.......he had an affair with Merna. she gave him secrets, then killed her husband. Merna was going to kill you because you were the only thing that he loved. but he pleaded to take his life. that's why your a vampire now. she was planning to kill you but, a slow one so she wouldn't get out of her deal. I had to tell you. you needed to know why she treated you like that." I was shocked. It all made sense now. she didn't hate me, just my father. this whole thing was on revenge?

"Thank you for telling me John. I thought when she first turned me she would have been kinder and took pity on me because I had no one and was still a child. when she started hurting me, I always thought it was my fault." he caressed my cheek.

"Ell it is never your fault. don't ever think like that. " I nodded and smile.

"John when is our wedding going to be?" he smirked.

"I had a feeling you would say yes......so the wedding is in three weeks!"
