Azure
Azure patiently waited for the Queen to wake up. Jareth was busy making arrangements for announcing the Queen's arrival and ordered Azure to keep watch. Of course, she could give less of a damn about his orders. Now that the Queen was in the Goblin Kingdom, as soon as she woke she would be her new master. Azure hoped she'd wake before Jareth's arrival.
After all her years of service, Azure had never met such an arrogant and devious king. She didn't know if she could ever trust him.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the faint sigh made by the Queen before she turned over in her sleep. In the grand canopy bed with the best silk spread found in all the land, the Queen looked very out of place in her other world clothing. Azure would have to make arrangements with Jareth to get her proper clothing but knowing Jareth , he probably had them ready made for years. She had to roll her eyes at the thought.
"Thinking of me?" asked an obnoxious voice that seemed to come from all parts of the room. Azure rolled her eyes again. "How did you guess?" she replied. Jareth appeared, standing on the other side of Sarah, hands behind his back, and his usual arrogant smile plastered on his face. "You only make that lovely expression for me" he said in a mockingly sweet voice. Then his eyes lowered to the sleeping Queen. His expression went soft. Azure wouldn't have believed it were possible if she didn't witness it herself.
"She's beautiful isn't she?" he asked softly. Azure agreed but didn't say anything. From his eyes, she could tell he wanted to touch her but kept his hands firmly behind his back. Restraint was the last thing she expected from Jareth. In fact, it was very strange considering he almost ruined the plans by going to see her twice.
"Why didn't you accompany me to retrieve the Queen?" she asked suddenly without thinking. Jareth looked up, surprised and also amused. Of course he was amused.
Jareth smiled and replied "Because as much as I have missed her for all these years , I'm also very afraid." His eyes fell upon the Queen again. A discrete sadness showed up on his face.
Azure was surprised and confused at his answer. She looked at the sleeping Queen as well. What could a mere human woman have done to such a King?
