Jareth

Moro smiled big. All his yellow teeth were showing.

Jareth let go of Moro and went back to sitting on the pile of books. The goblin was getting too old he assumed. "So tell me", Jareth mused with a smirk, "Why is dear Sarah returning to my kingdom? Did she forget something?" Moro was back to reading his gigantic book and without looking up answered "She belongs here." Jareth froze. Moro had gone insane for sure. Maybe he could put the poor thing out of its misery. "You see the books told me she has become bonded to this world and land just like you", he murmured.

Jareth's mouth and throat went dry. His head began to pound and the musty book smell this place reeked of was suffocating him. "Hhhh..How is that possible!?" Jareth shouted. "She is a mortal! A human! Only Fey are chosen by the land to lead and be bonded!" Moro finally looked up from the damn book and murmured "It is no concern of mine how it happened or who it happened too. Your Sarah is needed here and that is that." Moro's bushy white brows were knitted together and his yellow eyes bore into Jareth. "Child, why are you troubled? I assumed you would be very please with this. Did she not mean something to you?" he asked.

Jareth stood up from the books and started pacing between the shelves. Why was he upset? He would have Sarah back. He ached for her for years and she was finally going to be his. Plus the crumbling kingdom was explained by her so called bond to the land. How could a kingdom function and grow if only one of two people were ruling it? He could restore his kingdom. He should be overjoyed but his instincts were warning him to be cautious. Could he trust the books? Could he trust Moro? Yes, he could. Moro helped him countless times before. He wouldn't be here if it were not for Moro and his strange all knowing books. So what was it? Why was he so anxious? Was it because he was nervous to see Sarah? He wouldn't be surprised if she resented him , he did take her brother and try to trick her. However, Jareth also knew he didn't care if she hated him as long as he could see her face and hear her voice.

"Child, you will make a hole in the floor if you keep pacing like that," interrupted Moro. Jareth strided over to Moro and with a smile and asked, "So how will she be arriving?".  Moro shrugged and Jareth wanted to strangle him. "It is up to you to bring her back",  he grunted with annoyance. That was enough to crumble what little patience Jareth had left for the old goblin. In a flash, Moro found himself uncomfortably close to the Goblin King's face. Jareth was holding Moro firmly by the beard.

"Since she claimed I have no power over her years ago , I haven't been able to even look at her from my crystal orbs," Jareth said through clenched teeth while glowering at Moro. As always, Moro was unfazed. "What do you suppose I do child? " Moro replied , "I only say what the books sa.." Suddenly Moro's expression grew thoughtful. "Well?!" Jareth asked impatiently and slightly hopeful. Moro struggled out of Jareth's grasp and scurried to the book shelves. Jareth crossed his arms and grinned. He knew he could always count on Moro, even though it took a little pushing on his part sometimes. He would see his Sarah very soon.

In a matter of seconds, Moro came rushing to Jareth with a tiny royal blue book in hand. "Will that tiny thing tell me how to get her back?" Jareth asked with a quizzical expression. Moro didn't answer but instead opened the book to an empty page and started chanting in an ancient goblin dialect under his breath. A small blue orb rose from within the pages of the book and produced a wind with a strong pull. Books flew through the air and the shelves rattled. Jareth felt himself being pulled towards the orb as well. "What is this Moro?!" he roared. "No time to explain child, just give it a sacrifice! Something close to you! " sputtered Moro behind the blue orb. Jareth had half the mind to toss Moro in but decided not to considering he needed Moro later.

The pull from the orb was getting stronger and Jareth felt himself getting pulled closer. His blond hair was getting in his face and it annoyed him to think he looked like a mess. "Child!" called out Moro from behind the orb. He was struggling to hold the small blue book and his long white beard was probably the only thing keeping him rooted to the ground. Jareth didn't know what to do, he wasn't really attached to many things and the only things he could think of that were close enough were inside his kingdom.

Suddenly , Moro was lifted off the ground and swirling through the air . "Child!" he screamed frantically. Without thinking, Jareth ran towards Moro and used his magic to help him fly through the air and catch Moro. The pressure knocked the blue orb out of the book and it floated to the middle of the room. It grew bigger and brighter. The wind became stronger and Jareth was being whirled around the room like a leaf with Moro tightly in his arms. Jareth tried to use his magic to balance himself but the wind kept resisting his efforts. He glanced at the orb to discover it was morphing into something else. Before he could see what it was morphing into the wind stopped and Jareth landed in a pile of musty old books. Moro rolled out of Jareth's arms and dusted himself off without a scratch. Jareth on the other hand was grouchy and sore. His hair was astray and his lovely clothes were all ruffled up. He was about to unleash all of his Goblin King fury onto Moro but noticed a figure in the center of the room. A woman.
