"Ugh..."
Kayla let out a prolonged sigh of agitation. School was almost out.
"Now class I'm going to give you homework over the summer. You are all to write an essay about 3 books you read during summer. Now I expect the best quality essays transcribed on your papers. Now don't forget that all the teachers will be on the lookout for any of you who think that it's funny to copy another author's work and call it your own. So with that I bid you farewell and hope that you have a great summer." That was Kayla's teacher Mrs. Farnsworthy that every kid hated. She was one of those old, shriveled up teachers who had a habit of scaring with a single glance.
The bell gave a loud buzz and every kid made a bee line for the door, even though Mrs. Farnsworthy said that running in the halls caused 78% of running in the hall related accidents. Boy was I glad school was out. The clamor on the bus was more unbearable than ever. I just sat looking out of my window as my bus pulled into my cul de sac.
Wait a minute. Pause. Rewind. What did I just see?
Some sort of weird blue box. Parked right outside of my house. Just my luck. Must be one of the communities' ways to get business. But why put it outside of my house? My house is halfway in between the smaller outer communities.
I walk strait up to my door, using my keys just like I always do. "Bella" I say in a high sing song voice, only then do I turn around to see someone petting my dachshund.
"Excuse me. But who are you? "
Suddenly a tall man with brown hair gravitating to one side with a rather odd looking outfit looks at me with a twinkle in his eyes. He jauntily says "Hello, I'm the doctor."
