Chapter 4
~Punishments
"I've been waiting for you."
I froze. I knew that voice all too well. It was the voice that caused me all those horrible nightmares, the voice that would not let me forget. I knew it was him. Turning around slowly, I came face to face with him. My father.
"You are late," he said, in a sickly sweet voice. The voice he used when he tried to hold in his anger. I held his gaze, not backing down. He walked slowly towards me. "It is midnight, you are two hours past curfew. Where were you?"
"I, um, I was out with, uh, my friend," I whispered.
Slap!
I heard it, before I felt it. The sound of skin hitting skin. I cringed, my hands shot up to my cheek. I looked at my father. He has only ever slapped me when I was lying. In his eyes was pure anger. He didn't believe me, I knew that much. He thought I was lying.
"Don't lie to me, girl!" he said in a bitter sweet voice, trying to not let out his anger.
"I... I'm not lying," I whispered.
Slap!
"Stop it!" he yelled, losing his self control.
Next thing I knew, he had his hand around my neck, pressing hard enough to make it way too hard to breathe, and was lifting me off the ground by only my neck. I struggled in his grasp, trying to tear his hands away, but I was too weak to even make a scratch. My lungs were screaming for air, and tears were cascading down my face. I wanted to die right then, just to end this suffering, but at that moment he let me go. I fell to the floor in a dull thud.
"You're a worthless piece of sh!" he screamed at me.
I was hoping he would leave me alone, but I knew he wouldn't. Not when he was this angry, insane, malicious, murderously crazy. I was so right. My father started to kick me. Everywhere. He kicked me repeatedly. Over and over again. Never stopping. Pain was exploding from every place in my body. I was helpless. I lied there, motionless, letting him do whatever he wanted to do.
I was so close to fainting from the pain when he lifted me off the ground by my neck, again. He then slapped me repeatedly, making my head swing back and forth. I would have cringed at the sounds, but I was in so much pain, to the point were I was completely numb and I was limp, unable to even move my own body. My neck was aching from his grip and the swinging.
"This will teach you not to lie, and to never, ever break my rules!" he hissed, murderously.
He dropped me. My body landing painfully on the floor with a dull thump. I saw his feet right in front of me. I started shaking. I could hear him laughing evilly, then he just walked away, leaving me on the floor. Again, I started to wish that I could die, just so I wouldn't have to keep suffering through all his torture and beatings.
That was all I remembered before I fainted.
~*~*~*~*~*~
I woke up to a pounding in my head. It felt like my skull was going to crack because the pounding seemed to be that hard. I groaned in pain as I sat up. I was in my room, lying on my bed. All I had remembered was fainting... in the living room... after I came home from being out with Kyle. How did I get in my room and on my bed?
What had happened?
Then, my phone started ringing. I grabbed my phone and looked at the caller I.D.. It was Kyle. Groggily, I grabbed at my phone. After a few tries, I had finally reached it. I quickly unlocked it and clicked 'answer'.
