Alan Walker- Sing me to sleep

We all looked over the side of the cliff feeling our hearts ready to jump out of our chests. "Throw it," I said as we all looked over to Avery who held a stone in his outstretched arms over the side as Zack looked down at his watch. Nodding he released the stone as Zack started to count.

"One. Two. Three." I stopped listening after three and only looked at him after he stopped after eight causing my muscles to stiffen as I felt like dropping down as they began preparing the ropes for the climb down the mountain. I kept on point as Zack organized my rope, my finger was itching to shoot something, feeling tense no matter how much I rolled my shoulder blades and tried to get the tenseness out of my body.

I looked back around only to see Bella push her weapon behind her and climbed over the edge of the cliff with Avery and Uriah at either side of her. Every looked over at me and smiled before she too climbed over the edge with Jake at her side, I sighed before walking over to the edge and connecting the rope onto my belt before pushing my gun behind me and climbing over the edge using my leads to help move me down the side of the mountains alongside Zack as we hurried down to meet the rest of our team who were standing on the large rocks pointing in the different directions as well as over onto the other side of the river.

I quickly took off the harness and pulled my gun in front of me. All that I could have heard was ths fast running of the water in the river. "At ease soldiers," I stated as I sighed and looked over at Bit.

"Four miles from the river," he stated.

"Cross the river and settle, get some rest and we move at midnight," I stated before moving towards the river feeling the water hugging my legs up to my knees in a cold embrace as I held my gun above my head. I've been trained to resist the physical environment, this is what they have been training us to do since we were twelve, this is our purpose, to destroy the National security system and allow the Alpha Section to be in total control.

I sighed as I got on the banks of the river, my muscles were sore from the constant motion for the entire day without rest, all I wanted to do was sleep for hours and hours without end, that's all I wanted to do. I placed my gun down and dropped down feeling my muscles pulling and tightening as I rolled over on my back and looked up at the blue sky noticing as Zack dropped down also exhausted. We all lined up on the bank for an hour looking on as the blue soon changed into pink.

The soft crackling of the fire was all that could be heard as we all ate our hard biscuits in silence. It didn't take us long to prepare a camp for the few hours in which we would be resting. Working as a team we were able to build a camp in about half an hour, usually a fire would take forever to produce but thanks to Bit, the smoking addict we were able to get a fire going in a minute. I sat at Zack's side with our boots touching each other was I leaned forward and placed my elbow on my knee.

We were afraid to talk knowing that our words could be heard clearly through the microphones and earbuds they forced us to put on. We could hear each other words but we knew they could also hear us, I secretly couldn't wait to take this shit off and smash it under my boot, after I get the team out of here, to safety, I would make sure that they have wonderful lives, but I knew even then we have to keep looking over our shoulders, after all, we are their billion dollar investments.

"Get some rest," I commanded, "I'll take watch."

They were too exhausted to complain, I watched as Bella climbed a tree, Every and Avery settled at the base of the same tree with Every snuggling up to Avery, Jake leaned back on a tree opposite to them with Uriah and Bit sprawled off on the leafy ground close to the fire. They were out quickly, all except Zack who sat at my side and nudged my side. I looked over to my side and placed my forehead on his shoulder taking in his scent, a scent which I would never forget.

He smiled and kissed my forehead before pushing his hand through my hair and pulling it forcing me to face up at the canopy above hiding the night's sky and he gently kissed my jaw and moved down to my neck. I smiled and bit my bottom lip feeling his lips move up to my jawline again and towards my cheek which he kissed gently before kissing my lips gently. I felt his tongue on my bottom lip and like the many times before I let him in, stopping for a few seconds to smile in content before he pulled me back to his lips. I gently bit his lip before pulling away.

"You should get some rest," I whispered as I stood up and took off the safety off the gun as I walked towards a tree leaning up on the side. Ignoring my orders, Zack also came and leaned up on the same tree.

"If you aren't going to rest, neither am I," he stated as the soft click of the gun signalling that he too turned off his safety registered. I sighed and shook my head before looking up pointing my gun in the direction which a sound was hear causing Zack to stiffen as he kept his finger close to the trigger. I couldn't wait till tomorrow was over.
