{Candie's POV}
My body once again felt stiff when I woke up. I curled up in the corner of the room when I couldn't find another way out. I dreamed.
My dreams started out fine. I was back with the Yogscast, my family, and we were happy. Then the man came in, along with Ms. Hilton, and dragged me away. I screamed and kicked and begged for help, but the Yogscast members just stood there, watching me as I struggle. I sat up straight when I woke up, my neck wet with cold sweat and my heart beating fast.
The room was cold. I curled up in fetal position, seeking warmth. I didn't have any extra clothes, and I left my hoodie back at Simon's house.
I stayed like that for a long time, then I heard light knocking on my door. It opened, and the man walked in, holding a glass of water in his hands.
"Morning, sweetheart." He said gently. My teeth chattered. He noticed. "Would you like to come downstairs?" I didn't say anything. "I have a fireplace. This room doesn't have anything to warm up with. I'll close the blinds, and if you promise to be quiet, we'll play a game." I stayed silent. I heard him sigh, and he walked over to me. He held out a hand to me, and after a moment, I hesitantly took it. He lead me downstairs, and I instantly felt the warmth.
There was a fire place in one corner of the room. The blinds were shut, along with heavy curtains covering them. There was a couch behind a coffee table, a chair not far from the couch, and a small television. One the coffee table was a chess set, and two steaming cups of tea.
"Come," He gestured to the couch. "Let's sit." I didn't move, so he grabbed my hand a bit tight, and lead me to the couch. We sat down, on either side of the chess table.
"Why don't you have a sip of your tea? I'm sure your hungry." He smiled, a smile that spelled C-R-E-E-P-E-R.
I didn't take the cup, no matter how much I wanted it. He frowned, took his own cup and sipped loudly. I assumed he was either distracting me into drinking the tea, or he just had bad manners. I didn't reach for the tea.
He set his cup down, making a few drops spill over the edge onto the chess board. My cup stopped steaming.
"How about a game?" He asked, his voice tight. He was losing his patience with me. I shrugged.
"Do you know how to play chess?" He continued. I shrugged. He sighed.
We ended up playing chess for an hour. I knew how to play chess; it was one of the only board games in the orphanage. About halfway through our first game, I was starting to enjoy myself. I ended up winning. The man smiled, obviously pleased that I was complying. As we started the next game, I decided to come back to my senses and question him.
"So," I started. He looked up, happy that I was talking to him. "Why did you..... kidnap.... the other kids?"
He froze, closed his eyes and started to flex his fingers. His jaw was tight, and it looked like he was trying to control his anger. "First," He said, his voice stiff. "I did not.... kidnap..... kids. I don't know what you are talking about."
I looked at him in disbelief. He's pretending he didn't have anything to do with the kidnappings. My own jaw tightened. "Then why am I here? You picked me off the streets like all the other kids you took, strangled them and left them to die. You are a monster." I spit out the last words.
He stood up and swung out his arm, throwing the board across the room. His flaring eyes landed on me, and I knew I crossed the line. He held up a hand, and slapped me. I fell off the couch and onto the floor, my cheek stinging.
