{Candie's POV}

It was bright. When I opened my eyes, they stung from the light. At first, I thought, 'Oh my god, I'm dead!'. But then the objects in the room became more clearer. I saw my legs, covered in a white sheet upon a bed. I saw my arm, a slender tube sprouting from the wrist, and into an IV bag. I saw the white walls and bright ceiling lights. I'm in a hospital. Why?

I saw figures in the room. There were three figures sitting in chairs on one side of the room, and another figure standing near the door. The standing figure was in white. I tried to speak, but only managed a groan.

"She's awake!" I heard a voice. It sounded familiar.

"When can we take her home?" Said another familiar voice.

"This afternoon if we don't encounter any problems." Said another voice. I didn't recognize this one.

I suddenly remembered everything. The Yogscast, the kidnapping, the fights. My dad. I could see clearer now, and saw that the three figures were Hannah, Lewis, and Duncan. No Martyn or Simon anywhere.

"How're you feeling, Candie?" Hannah said gently, kneeling beside the bed.

"Wh...... Where's......Simon? M-Martyn?" I managed.

"They're going to be okay," Lewis said. "Their injuries were more...... drastic, then ours, so they're going to be here longer."

I notice the three's own injuries. Hannah has bandages on her head, Lewis has bruises around his neck, and Duncan has a small bandage on his nose. I remember the bookshelf, and wonder if his legs are covered in bruises.

"When......c-can I..... go home?" I ask.

"The doctor said this afternoon. We'll take home Simon and Martyn on another day." Duncan said. I nod.

The next person who walks into the room is surprising. My eyes widen, and if I could talk normally, I would tell Ms. Hilton to get out.

Ms. Hilton walks into the room, looks at me in pity, then turns to the three adults.

"Hello, you all remember me?" She asks.

"Yes, you were the woman at the orphanage." Hannah said.

Ms. Hilton's fake smile dims, but doesn't go out. "Ms. Hilton. And I'm here for Candie Dean."

"I'm not.... going any....where with you..." I say.

"Oh Candie, the sedatives must still be affecting her." Ms. Hilton gives a chuckle.

"What do you mean you're here for Candie?" Lewis asks.

"I mean, I'm taking her back to the orphanage." Ms. Hilton states. "With her running away and all, I figured she wants to go back."

"No," I say, louder than I intended. "I'm..... staying with.... t-them." I didn't want to go back with her! I belong with the Yogscast! They're my family!

Ms. Hilton laughs. "Sure, sweetie. But don't worry, you'll be safe with Ms. Hilton and the orphanage family!" She walks by the side of the bed and takes my hand. With the little strength I have, and remove my hand from hers, and put it under the sheets. She frowns.

"You're not taking her," Hannah says. Ms. Hilton looks up at her.

"Candie's part of our family now. You can't take her away after all this." Duncan argues. I smile.

Ms. Hilton stands up straight, her good-natured factor gone. "Fine. But you can't make the decisions. Mr. Lane can only decide what happens to her. I will wait until he wakes up to get the final word." Ms. Hilton walks to the door in a huff, and exits.
