Battle of the Bands

chapter 8

Sorry I haven't updated in forever had a lot to do this summer and not much time to write hoping to update more often.

Shoni's pov 

Hey oh don't ya know 

ya we're here to put on a show 

hey oh here we go 

we are gonna rock your ears 

from show to show 

hey oh don't ya know 

some day you're gonna hear us on the radio . 

"So what do you think?" I ask at our next band practice.  

"Sounds good" they all agree. With that we work on our covers; put night changes by one direction on our youtube channel. 

...

I get up and then remember I have to tutor Luke and Calum after school I am not looking forward to this. I finish getting ready for school and head out the door I text the girls not to bother picking me up because I slept in. As I walk the short distance to the school I get bored which happens a lot and when I get bored I seem to smoke or get myself into trouble. I pull out my pack of smokes and my lighter. There is a bit of a wind so it takes me a minute to get it lit. By the time I reach the school I'm over half done my smoke and the girls are standing at the door waiting for me Tia, rolls her eyes when I walk up and blow smoke in their direction, because I know it bugs her. She calls me a bitch and tries to keep a straight face when i pretend to be offended but we both end up laughing. 

I notice Shae is standing there staring at me probably cause she has never seen me smoke but I really don't care what she thinks, I'm trying to quit but then i have nothing to do to take my off of everything that is going wrong in my life. Part of why my parents take so many trips for work is because they are always fighting and I think the only reason they are still together is me but that is my opinion. I don't know for sure, and because they almost never talk to me about it. 

We walk into the school and the hell starts, Luke walks up to me and knocks my books out of my  hand. "What was that yesterday?" He snarls in my face.

I just pick up my books and ask, "what?"

"Don't act all innocent you know what," he demanded 

"Oh you mean at the barn?" I asked as if for clarification, even though i knew what he ment. 

"Ya at the barn that hoses was going flipping nuts and you waltz in and he just calms down as

and acts like a totally chill, normal, horse," he explains.

"I just have a way of dealing with horses like that. Growing up with horses that could buck you off at any second you learn a few tricks to get them to be you friend or at least get them so that they don't want to kill you." I explained. 

"Let me guess one of those tricks are drugging the poor thing?" he spits in my face.

I just can't take it any longer, " no who in their right mind would drug a horse, just to get it to calm down. I have learn tricks to get them to chill, and when you grow up where and how I did you don't even have the money or the resources to get drugs to drug horses. I learnt to read horses and communicate with them, not like what people call a horse whisperer, but just being able to read their body language and tell somewhat what they maybe thinking by what they are doing." I inform him then turn on my heel and walk away.

"Way to  go!!!" ite hugs me when we get around the corner, I'm shaking all over instantly amazed that ha didn't freak on me or something. 

The rest of the day drags on and is uneventful.

The last bell rings and I head to the librarie, Luke and Calum are already there, I walk in and sit down, our teacher walks in. 

"Sorry guys I have to go there was a family emergency and I can't stay to watch you," he informes us as we grabs his jacket and walks out the door. 

" Well we could always just reschedule" I suggested, the boys would have none of that idea. 

"Why don't we just pretend that you tutored us and just all go home" Luke suggests, and he also leaves. The only people left are me and Calum, I start shaking and think I might have a panic attack, I start shaking uncontrollably and just sit on the floor. luke standing there staring at me like I'm some kind of freak. 

"You ok?" he asks

"No" I confess 

"What is wrong then?" he asked obliviously

"I'm in a room alone with you one of the people who has bullied me since the day I moved here." I reminded him.

He just stood there staring at me while I sat on the floor shaking and freaking out. "We should probably get out of here," Calum finally speaks. I get up but still keep myself huddled in a ball. We walk out to Calum's car. He helps me in and then asks for directions to my house. We end up not going back to my place but in a totally different direction. 

"Where are we going?" I ask when I realise we aren headed in the right direction. 

"You're supposed to be tutoring me right?" 

"Supposed to be ya but I doubt that will happen" I tell him exactly what is on my mind.

"Well we are heading to my place to see," he tells me. So now I know where we are going but does this make me any happier. I start to freak out again and just cereal back up into a ball. 

By the time we get to his house I have calmed down some, but I'm still not totally sure if I want to do this. He stops the car in the drive of a large house like mine, he notices my hesitation, "do you have any idea why we  bullied you all this time?" he asks. Honestly I had no idea so I simply shook my head, "We figured if we made fun of you," he hesitated before going on, "none of us would fall for you so we made a pact and it kinda got out of hand, but we all agreed to it and that we would never physically hurt a girl, that it just isn't right."
