A/N: I was supposed to post Heart's Unlocked: Love and Hate first before this but I decided not to post it yet since it has some mature content. So instead, I'll make it the last story I'm going to post here. :) Hope you'll enjoy this one. Happy reading, everyone. xoxo

--------------------------------------

It was a rainy Saturday afternoon when Adam arrived in front of Amy’s house, a high school teacher whom his best friend, Jake, is friends with. Amy asked for a favor if he could watch over her one student, Hailey, for the day since she wouldn’t be able to get into their tutorial class in time.

“I really am so sorry to bother you, Mr. Levine. Jake isn’t available today and he told me that you’re free,” Amy apologized as she grabbed her things on the small round table of her small apartment.

“No, it’s fine. I really need some time off anyway,” Adam said, following her down the stairs.

“You sure it’s okay?”

“Yes, it’s fine.”

A few minutes later they were driving down town to Hailey’s place. It was just a half an hour drive away from Amy’s home. None of them had talked that much on their way since Amy wasn’t comfortable to be with him at all. Not because he’s a superstar but more of because they weren’t that close to each other and there she was asking for a favor. Adam just seemed fine with the silence. He was busy checking out his phone every damn minute, waiting for a call or a text message from someone probably.

“Hailey is a good girl. You don’t have to worry about her. She always looks forward for our tutorial class and since I wasn’t able to come last weekend, and I wouldn’t be able to come again next weekend, I have to make this day to her. But things have been crazy, and I don’t want her to lose interest. You know she has problems and it’s very hard to get her focus straight on again,” Amy explained as he pulled through a driveway of a cream-colored house with a well-cleaned lawn.

“Does she bite?” Adam asked.

Amy giggled. “No, she’ll probably stay quiet the whole time. I promise you,” she said. Her giggles reminded Adam of someone whom he adores so much.

Amy knocked on the door three times. Hailey opened the door for her and gave her a quick hug. Her parents had left off already and she was left with only her nanny.

“Nana, I’m glad you’re here! I’m so excited for our new lesson,” Hailey said cheerfully. But her expression changed when she landed her gaze on Adam. “Who is he?”

“He’s Adam, sweetie. And he’ll be your tutor for today. Well, just for a few hours. I will be back later,” Amy explained.

“Hi,” Adam smiled. Hailey didn’t greet him back and just completely ignored him.

“Promise me you’ll be back, okay?” Hailey said and looked back on Amy.

“I promise.”

Amy led Adam to Hailey’s study room. The room was spacious and smelled like lavender. On one side of the room was a shelf full of science books and on the other shelf were different types of novels arranged in their respective genres. On the center of the room is a small round table and a sofa.

“I’ll leave you now. I’ll be back at 3,” Amy said, leaving Adam with Hailey.

Adam sat on one of the round chairs beside the sofa and watched Hailey retrieved a book from the shelves. Then, finally he received a call.

“Hey, Christina,” Adam hailed on the line.

“Hey. I wonder if you could come over for a little get together with Blake and Miranda. Cee-lo’s coming too,” she asked.
