Nightmares

Sorry about the wait. I've had writer's block for a while......hope this one makes up for it. No summary this time. Enjoy :)

I couldn't move. No matter how hard I tried. I just couldn't.

Someone was coming. I could feel it even though it was silent. Then out of nowhere, Max appeared in front of me. He was crying, crimson blood coming out of his eyes instead of the usual tears. 

"You didn't protect me Alec. Why?" Max cried.

I couldn't speak. Couldn't say anything. I wanted to apologize say that he was right but I couldn't. All of a sudden, Magnus appeared beside Max, followed by Jace then Izzy. All of them had ghost like faces and wouldn't meet my eyes. Sly grins on their faces.

"I can't believe I have a brother like you. It should've been you that died not Max." Isabelle hissed. "That would've made everything much easier." 

"I'll say." Jace started. "I should've never made this guy my parabatai. Worst decision of my life. The only good thing about joining this family was having Izzy and Max as friends." 

I couldn't take it. Why were they saying these things. I tried saying something again and managed to find my voice. "Stop. No. You not them. This isn't real. None of it is!" I cried out and still couldn't move. I wanted to run. Run away from them and find the real ones, I didn't believe it, I couldn't. 

That's when Magnus stepped closer to me and put his hand on my cheek. I relaxed a bit at my boyfriend's touch but then panicked when he started to tighten his grip on my face to the point that it was painful. His golden cat eyes full of hate. "I never love you. Your just a shadowhunter, a puny mortal, and you were just a little lonely one at that before you met me. You were just suppose to be a short fling then I would've forgotten you, moved on, but no you kept insisting." Magnus hissed out. 

I tried to cover my ears when they all began to laugh as I fell to my knees. "Stop stop no! It's not true! Stop!" I cried out and started to rock back and forth when they huddled around me and started to chant my name loudly. 

"Alec."

"Alec..."

"Alec....."

"Alexander!" 

I woke up with a start. I was covered in sweat and was sitting up in bed, Magnus in front of me. I tried to calm my breathing as he grabbed my shoulders. I could see his cat like eyes shining in the dark and they were completely different from the ones in the nightmare. Instead of being filled with hate they were filled with love and a bit of worry now. 

"Alexander its okay. It was just a bad dream. You're safe." Magnus reassured and pulled me onto his lap. 

I couldn't help but curl up into his chest and started to cry as the images from the nightmare came up in my head. I wrapped my arms around his slender waist, holding him like a lifeline, while Magnus was whispering soothing words in my ear and tracing his fingers through my hair. 

Once my breathing was back to normal, Magnus loosened his hold on me slightly and tilted my eyes toward his. "Are you ready to go back to sleep darling? Or do you wanna talk about the nightmare?" Magnus asked softly. 

It was already late and I didn't want to keep him up any longer than was necessary. "I'll tell you about it tomorrow, I promise." I said truthfully.

Magnus eyed me for a second before laying back, taking me with him. I tightened my hold on him as I laid my head down on his chest and before I knew it I was falling asleep to the sound of my warlock's breathing and heartbeat. "I love you Magnus." I whispered and he tightened his hold on me as well in response.
