Summary: Continue from 3. The Lightwood parents are here and don't know that Alec are gay or with Magnus. Now what?

Alec's POV:

Dinner was awkward to say the least. Magnus had invited Isabelle, my parents, and I to his  house and we were all now sitting at his table in the backyard, candles lighting the table and making the air more relaxing than usual. It would've been great if someone would actually find a conversation to make. Magnus took the head of the table while Maryse and Robert took the left of the table and Izzy and I took the right, I was sitting next to Magnus.

"So mom and dad." It was Izzy at an attempt. "Where have you been?"

"Looking for you both." Maryse answered. They both had taken a shower then changed into clean sets of clothing, they both say tall and proud with their heads held high, they always would.

"We have been here for the past two months." I put in.

"I am glad that you four found shelter." Robert let out and I froze. "Speaking of which, where are Jace and Max?"

I looked down at my plate, twiddling with my fork in my hand, my appetite was suddenly gone.

"Jace died on the same day we got separated, along with Max." Isabelle spoke up.

I felt Magnus' hand on mine on the table but quickly pulled it away, looking up at him then my parents, he gave me a look of hurt and questioning while my mom and dad were focusing on eating dinner.

"I will explain later." I whispered to him, hoping my parents wouldn't hear. Magnus just nodded and went back to eating but I could still see the look of hurt in his eyes.

"Magnus Bane I must tell you, I absolutely love your community, how did you manage to build all this?" Maryse asked politely.

"Oh it was Catarina and I, we both have been alone for a long time and we decided to do something about it, people just joined in gradually." Magnus explained.

"And Catarina. She is your wife?" Robert asked.

"Oh no, she is my best friend, I am with someone though."

"Well she is a lucky woman, you seem like such a nice young man." Maryse added.

"Um, he is perfect yes." Magnus said, taking another bite and stealing a look at me very quickly.

Robert and Maryse were quiet for several minutes before my dad started laughing, loudly I might add.

"Robert keep your voice down." Maryse warned.

He shook his head and put his napkin on his mouth. "I apologize, you are kidding right?"

Magnus rose an eyebrow in questioning. "No, I'm not." Magnus said with a challenging voice.

"Robert I don't see why you are making a deal out of this." My mom added which caught me off guard.

"He's a faggot! Gay!" Robert bellowed, pointing at Magnus, I was getting angry.

"I prefer freewheeling bisexual." Magnus said calmly then shrugged.

"You are disgusting, unnatural!"

I had about enough, I stood up and hit my palms on the table, making everything on it shake. "How dare you! He has taken you into his community, given you a home, and not to mention reunited you with your family!" I screamed back at him. "You are the one that is being unnatural and not to mention unbelievable, Magnus has been nothing but amazing these past few months to me and to Izzy then he welcomes you here. So shut up before I kick you out myself!"
