5. Trickery

Magnus' POV:

I was currently standing at the far end of the library with Jace while everyone else was standing at the other end. Regina was strapped down to a metal chair being questioned by Clary, Simon and Izzy, every so often Isabelle had to step back as to not hurt the girl.

"Just give me five minute with her, I'll get the location." I said softly to Jace beside me.

"I wish Magnus." He said, shaking his head. "We had to pry you off her."

"Yeah so?"

"She almost stopped breathing entirely."

"Your point is?"

"My point is that we cannot find Alec if she is dead, we also cannot find Alec if you are behind bars at the silent city for killing a shadowhunter." Jace pointed out.

I crossed my arms along my chest and leaned back against the wall. There was blood on my shirt where she threw a dagger at me and I refused to go home and change into another one until we find Alexander. Everyone looked ready to kill Regina as she let out a loud laugh.

"I'm not going to tell you where he is until your pet warlock over there raises the love spell he has over him." Regina admitted, that stupid smile was still planted on her face like she wasn't being questioned for kidnapping.

"I don't have a love spell on him!" I shouted. "I don't use love spells, they are just so clique and not the real thing, why would I waste my time and energy on something that I know is fake?"

"Beats me, your the one that casted it." She said with a shrug.

I growled and stepped forward, hand raised and ready before Jace stepped in front of me. "Remember she's no good to us dead. She is clearly delusional and no better than her father." The blonde shadowhunter whispered so only I could hear.

"Then how do you suggest we get Alec back?" I questioned, matching his lowered voice.

"We play along." Jace said with a smile almost as sinister as her own.

I rose my eyebrow in question when Jace threw his hands up in frustration and furrowed his brows. He was angry.

"Magnus just lift the stupid spell you have on my parabatai! I knew not to trust you from the beginning!" Jace yelled.

"Jace!" Clary shouted. Jace just held a hand up.

Then I got it. "I don't have any spell on him!" I shouted back, shoving Jace.

Jace then pushed me back and pinned me against the wall, knife to my neck. "Give me back my parabatai you half breed!"

"Watch it with that name geez." I whispered.

"Sorry." Jace whispered back but still held his ground.

"Alright alright! I give up!" I rose my hand and ignited my magic, probably just filling up the chairman's food bowl back home or putting a book back on its shelf here in the library.

"No more love spell?" Regina questioned.

"No, and I would have gotten away with it too if you didn't spoil my plans Regina Pangborn." I hissed.

"Quick where's Alec?" Izzy questioned.

Regina froze for a second, I thought she wasn't going to tell us before she signaled Isabelle to get closer. Regina whispered something in Izzy's ear.

"You're sure?" Isabelle asked.

Regina just nodded. "Now let me out of these ropes."

"No I think we will keep you there till the Clave gets here." Jace said, unpinning me.
